In an interview with gamerzines.com, Sledgehammer Games boss Glen Schofield revealed that his company had been working on a third-person Call of Duty game with a tone similar to Dead Space. In other words: War is horror. When Sledge was tapped to work on Modern Warfare 3 with Infinity Ward, the untitled project was put on ice, breaking the hearts of action-horror fans like myself all over the earth.
"It was a third-person action-adventure game, it was a shooter, and it was not based in this era," said Schofield. "It had a lot of atmosphere like, I should say Dead Space a little bit because you were underground in some places. You know, war is hell, war is scary and that's what we were trying to get across."
I can only hope that development of the game will be put back on track once Modern Warfare 3 is complete, but for now, Schofield isn't saying whether or not that's the plan, but either way, it's probably going to take awhile.
"I want to make at least one more first-person shooter," Schofield said when asked about the fate of the game. "I want to get really good at it... I would definitely, 100% work with Infinity Ward again because they're just the best. But I wouldn't mind giving Sledgehammer a shot on something."

3rd person shooters are hit or miss, i would much rather first person view anyday, the angle can be wrong and it can be clunky, moving behind stuff take gears for example i hate the arrow options to move around or over stuff if you got it down correctly where it didnt make u dizzy to play then maybe it could be cool but you should just take that game idea you got and put it into first person perspective view in my opinion and im sure many other peoples also

i wouldnt touch it with a 10 foot poll. not big on 3rd person shooters, let alone a game that calls itself cod that, well, isnt a cod game.

It isn't annoying that you're called fanboys because it's annoying that you won't give any other game a chance. I love CoD but I play every other game in between and I love all of them. You just need an open mind to gaming that's all I think.

Hopefully when Infinity Ward finished restaffing and can make games on their own again, Sledgehammer will go back to this.

To be honest, i hope this sees the light, it could have a possibility of bringing back the franchise from the pit of despair it's wallowing in currently.
This does sound quite interesting, however this will probably anger CoD fanboys, aka 12 year olds.

Sounds like it might be fun. And it would definitely be nice to play a shooter that has at least slightly differed from the COD formula.
