According to a translation of a Japanese advertisement, the 360 version of Battlefield 3 is so huge, no single disc can contain it. Instead, you'll get two discs when the FPS combat game ships on October 25. Not exactly a surprise -- we've suspected a multiple disc release since we saw the first BF3 demo -- but the ad offers something just short of confirmation.
If I were a betting man, I'd guess Battlefield 3 is split into a disc for the single-player campaign and a disc for the multiplayer, but instead of baseless speculation, I put a call into EA, and I'm waiting to hear back. When/if they confirm or deny the double-disc and offer details, I'll update this post and let you know, I promise.

2 discs for this game doesnt matter to me. I will be using the multiplayer side of it 90% of the time anyway

Ok, I am getting absolutely sick of all this fanboy bull! I am talking about all sides! I personally prefer PS3, but that's not to say the its any better, or worse, than 360 and/or PC, THEY ARE JUST DIFFERENT! You can sit there and start listing specs and what not, but what it basically comes down to is what you personally like, and not graphical capabilities, controller layout, or controller vs. keyboard/mouse.
I owned an 360 and it didn't work for me, I don't go out and tell someone that they're a flipping idiot because they like 360! I just except the fact that I will never interact with them online.
I play PC games and have for years. But, ever since I started playing consoles, I have put PC games on a back burner. Again, this deals with personal preference.
All I'm trying to say is that this news doesn't effect anyone but those looking to purchase this game for 360! Starting a flame war from any faction to any faction is something that should be done on a different forum, or at least, if people wish to discuss it here, they should be polite and respectful of everyone's opinion.

WTF 360?! the only reason you get more sales in games is because the discs get scratched easily and people have to buy another copy and because consumers are stupid.

I'm just glad I own a ps3, and not a crap box 360, 1 disc not multiple, ha! sucks to be xbox owner.. although it's always sucked to be an x-box owner but it just keeps getting worse.

Just because the game comes on a blue ray means nothing. BF3 is being optimized and built for the PC first, and more than likely the PC version is going to be released on DVD as well. The system requirements for BF3 on the PC is 15 GB of free hard drive space, which means multiple discs for PC as well. Hate to break it to everyone who wants bragging rights for the PS3 version, the PC version is going to look and play the best on PC and it has nothing to due with the fact that the game is played off a DVD or Blue Ray. The fact is today's PC hardware is years ahead of the console industry right now.
Just know that the PS3 and 360 version are going to look the same and play the same because both are ported from the PC and the fact that one is running off DVD and the other off Blue Ray isn't going to matter. They aren't going to take the time to optimize the game for the specific consoles. Consoles will get one version, PC will get another. The only downside for 360 gamers is they'll have to change their disc out for campaign and most people are more interested in the MP anyway, so who cares.
PC is gonna have 64 player matches, and console only 24 max. So...all consoles are owned by PC anyway.
I use my PS3 for watching blu ray movies and playing PS3 exclusive titles. I use my console for everything else. Sorry, I've had plenty of time with PSN and XBL, and XBL is wayyyyy better IMO. Worth the yearly subscription cost. Those PS3 fanboys who brag about free... Yeah free is nice, especially when free means you get your identity stolen. That's great! BTW, PSN has PSN plus and is charging for that at the same cost as XBL Gold. Most of you haters of PSN and XBL probably haven't even played on both networks to have a fair opinion anyway. I use both and can say with a fair opinion that I like XBL better.

Well this proves my comment about how the Blue Ray D.V.D. gaming disc can hold more information then a regular D.V.D. gaming disc that the X-Box 360 uses,and please don't take my comment as a negative comment,it's true,there is a huge difference between regular gaming disc and Blue Ray gaming disc,because Battle Field 3 has a lot of gaming data,that's why the X-Box 360 is going to have 2 disc and the Play Station 3 is going to have one disc and all the content on the game.
