I hope you like the Persona series, because you're about to get a LOT of it. Atlus is hard at work on no less than three different games in all, Famitsu reports (via Japanator). First up is a PlayStation Vita port of the PS2 game Persona 4.
The Vita release will carry a new title -- Persona 4: The Golden -- as well as a new character (Mary), additional voice-acted dialogue, new animations and more. That's a planned spring 2012 release (in Japan only at first, I would guess), as is Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka, a 2D fighting game that will arrive first in arcades before seeing a console release next summer.
Atlus is also naturally working on the next core game in the Persona series. Very little information is revealed, though the core development team is returning and they're planning some changes. What those changes are remains to be seen.

A NEW CORE GAME HOLY STITS

They need to port everything to play on the PS3. What an experience that would be, but it would cut sales on handhelds I bethca.

The reasons to buy this thing and quit playing games on my phone are increasing quickly ...

Persona is a system seller for me. With portables being big for JRPGs, and with Atlus' recent porting/updating of their games to the PSP, it made a lot of sense to me for them to put P4 on the Vita, and I'm glad they went this way. I'll likely pick up a Vita Day 1 if there is anything I want to play when it comes out.

I am definitely pleased to hear that there will be a port for P4 on the Vita, it definitely gives me a reason to pick the new handheld up, and it will be nice to actually be able to play P4 again since I can't play my PS2 games anymore. I don't know how I feel about a fighting game, but knowing P5 is coming is awesome news.
