The Secret World

It's been a long climb for Age of Conan developer Funcom's upcoming MMORPG, The Secret World, with an initial announcement dating all the way back to 2007. Before the planned 2012 release can arrive, however, Funcom will need to conduct a beta test.

You can sign up right now to participate, though the process is a bit more complicated than your standard "fill out this web form and wait until we call on you." Facebook is required. And enough free will to make a choice (or answer a series of multiple choice questions). As long as you meet those criteria, you should be fine.

To sign up for The Secret World beta test, you'll need to first head over to The Secret World website. You'll then need to choose one of the game's three factions -- Illuminati, Dragon or Templars -- to ally yourself with, or take a personality test that will assign a faction based on your responses.

Once you've selected a faction or been assigned to one, a pop-up window will allow you to link your Facebook account with the game. You'll also be set up for The Secret War social game, which can unlock in-game items and guaranteed beta access for The Secret World.
