Rockstar has released two new screenshots from Max Payne 3, depicting a gritty comeback for our hero. The game, which is set eight years after the events in Max Payne 2, features a different side of Max. He's now washed up, no longer a cop, and has left the greater New York area for Sao Paulo, Brazil to work as a private security officer. The two screenshots show off the motion comic-style approach that Rockstar is going for, as well as the new integrated cover system. Check out the second shot after the break.

It definitely looks really interesting. I'm definitely keeping my eye on this one. Though I'm saying the obvious, does not look like it's gonna make 2011 at all.

Ok delayed multiple times last i knew it was gonna be released in spring of 2010 guess its in limbo!
I have not kept up with it cause been side tracked when they release a golden release date ill then open the champaign!!

Finally Max, looks like Max again!! Now I'm interested again..
I just wish they would treat MP2 like it was all one big wet dream and the game would start where the first one left off. He gets let out of prison and the game starts from there. But the most important thing is that, James McCaffrey, is reprising his role as Max!! Without him, there is no MP3!!..

the new max payne 3 looks good i was a fan of the first one the second one i was iffy about but im wondering if they're going to add new perspectives an new abilities or if its just going to be the same old thing but with just better graphics im really hoping it comes out good because if its got the same things as the first two max paynes i think not alot of people will get it an there's gonna be a low chance of it being played again but props to rockstar for still keeping the game alive

I am just confused by the many different Max Payne screenshots over the years. I think I'll reserve any judgement until I know that they've put their foot down on the art direction. I can say that this latest version is less colorful and maybe more GTA engine than older screenshots that appeared to be using Unreal. I'm guessing this means that Max Payne will play more like GTA and less like Gears. Don't know how I feel about that.
