Deadly Premonition Sequel Mentioned, Desperately Hoped-For

Deadly Premonition

I realize survival-horror game Deadly Premonition is an acquired taste, one of those things where either you get it, and are totally on board, or you just don't get it, and never will. But for those of you on the bus, there's a chance of a sequel.

According to the game's enigmatic creator, Swery (a/k/a Hidetaka Suehiro), there are many Premonition plans (and plans for other games) are in effect. Here's a quote from a recent interview with UK's Metro.

"I'm making a storyline for a completely new game. And also I'm working on different types of Deadly Premonition-related projects. Trying to think of ways to create a sequel, that's definitely on the table, trying to create a prequel is also definitely on the table; and also a project to have more people play Deadly Premonition.

Swery also mentioned a "project to get more people to play Deadly Premonition, for example - and this is just an example - we might create a version that is like a director's cut with a higher quality of graphics so that it would appeal to a wider audience."

So who's with me in their overwhelming need to play a sequel to Deadly Premonition?

Can they bundle part 1 with it and port it over to the ps3? This one one of 3 games that would've made me get a 360 (DOA and bikini samurai are the other 2). Otherwise I have very small interest in a system with games I don't like. Sorry fanboys

This game, more than any other, wouldn't work on the PC. A big part of the game is getting around the awkward, broken controls. The thing is, those controls are broken in such a way that a mouse and keyboard would ruin that frustrating sense that makes this game a new art form. I say go buy a 360 and learn to use the controller, if only for this game. That being said, I do want more people to play the game, but I think Suehiro isn't a guy who would adulterate his vision for profit.

This is awesome news! I was hoping that there could somehow be a sequel, so I'll keep my fingers crossed.

You know what they could do to get more people to play it? Port it (well, port it well) to the PC, and put it on Steam. That is probably the best, and cheapest, way to get your product in the hands of more people.

I'm excited for more of this game series! But the creators need to admit they were inspired in some ways from the show Twin Peaks

A director's cut or sequel would be nice, don't you agree Zach?
