Unfortunately, Microsoft has announced that Kinect Star Wars and the absolutely amazing R2D2 inspired Star Wars Xbox 360 with Kinect bundle have both been delayed until next year. Both the game and the bundle were slated for a holiday 2011 release, but according to a Microsoft spokesperson, "Microsoft and LucasArts have elected to move the launch of Kinect Star Wars beyond holiday 2011 to ensure the full potential of this title is realized."
It's always frustrating when games are delayed, but I think it's generally a good thing when developers have more time to fine tune and polish their products. However, I'm sure many nerds and baby nerds are going to be sad that they'll have to go without an R2D2 Xbox 360 this holiday season. I'm very happy with my regular old fat Xbox 360, but I have to admit that I love the R2D2 redesign on the new version. As for the Kinect Star Wars, well, the force isn't exactly with me so I'm not too concerned. Dana Vinson, on the other hand, is very upset about the delay.
