According to a recent article from CNN only 10% of gamers actually finish the single-player campaigns in the games they play. To try and explain the reasons behind this seemingly small number, Sessler decided to get on his Soapbox and show how not only the medium of story telling, but the medium of games themselves have changed over the years.
Are the vast majority of gamers not finishing their games because of the lack of free time? Or is it a result of the multiplayer trend that has almost taken over the industry?

Like you said, I wonder how many people just don't WANT to finish a game. That's the main reason I don't finish some that I play. Like, say, Duke Nukem Forever. I didn't finish that game, and it's DEFINITELY not because I was distracted by the multiplayer, and it wasn't because I didn't have much time. Some games you start playing and then realize there's NO WAY you can bring yourself to finish them.
