For Dragon Age 3, Bioware plans to combine the best elements of the last two games (Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age 2) to create an awesome threequel.
“The team is going to have some things that are going to surprise both sets of fans, both core fans and new fans with a marriage of the best from both games, Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age 2,” Bioware CEO Dr. Ray Muzyka.
“One of the core values of Bioware is that we take feedback really seriously, and we know that the core fans who were expecting more Dragon Age Origins – we have to respond to that – we’re not willing to ignore that, we’re going to take that head on,” Muzyka said. “We also have an obligation to our new fans... the ones who were surprised and delighted with some new approaches and accessibility in terms of action and combat.”
Dragon Age 2 was one of those sequels that seemed barely to be from the same game series as the original Dragon Age. Personally, I liked aspects of each game, and hated aspects of each game as well, so the news that Bioware plans to combine the best parts of Dragon Age: Origins and DA2 fills me with great joy. Provided, of course, they don't use the things I hate... I trust Bioware to get it right, and combine the accessibility and action of Dragon Age 2 with the depth and story-telling of the first game.
As long as reusable dungeons don't show up in Dragon Age 3, I'll be happy.

I loved in Origins the story you play and the decisions you make.I also loved that you can chreate your character that you can be a elf, human, dwarf .In DA2 i liked the combat .So if you combine this you will make a great game and DA3 will be awsome.

I loved both games so im gonna keep this short and sweet. take the deep story line from DAO and the combat system from DA2. and a bigger world to explore.

good game It takes you back to the old school rpgs. Plus it mixs it up with some modern types of rpgs. Great story and game play. DA2 should have the warden in it and the others though and bring to light some of the backstory while you were hawk. Like how the others moved on.

Personally I thought that DAO was way better than DA2 in the third one they should bring back character from both games like morrigan, sandal, isabela, varric, and leliana to finish with those loose ends. Also I wouldn't mind being able to explore a bigger place then what was given in DAO with more romances and hell yes the Hawke and the Warden paths crossing . They could also add more classes then just the three warrior, rogue, or mage what about maybe a strictly summoner or something just suggesting. Either way can't wait for DA3 to come out definitely going to pre-order

YAY another dragon age, now I hope bioware actually puts some effort in to the level design.

With the exception of the horribly repetitive dungeons in 2, I LOVED BOTH games and played through both several times. I personally can't wait for another no matter which way they lean. I'd prefer the combat of 2 to make a return though, I prefer to be a bigger part of the combat rather than just ordering the characters and watching them do there own thing.

Both DA games were good to me. As for the cons I can understand to an extent. Will have to see what goes down in DA3. I was hooked when Origins came out and still mess around on it.

i don't like the graphic of this game, it looks abnormal. i hope they make the graphic better!

Just take the good bits from DAO and nothing from DA2. That game is a commercial and critical failure, but guys from Bioware have their heads up their asses to notice.

as they have started talking about DA3 does this mean they are done with DA2?
I personally enjoyed the game and would like to see more from this branch of the story, a few more DLC packs like legacy wouldnt be a bad thing and would make the experience more enjoyable for future play throughs.
As DA3 approaches im sure there are a more than a few people who will play through origins and DA2 to create their perfect storyline setup, and having a more enjoyable experience with as much content as possible can only make the player feel more connected with the game world.

DA:O, best bits.......your origin from dwarf to elf to harry potter.
massive map. epic end. tons of content and sub plots.
worst bits....lip sync, some anim, tiresome combat
DA 2 best bits.....decent satisfying combat....aslong as you dont mind bashing A.
plenty of animation/ cutscnes, family sub plot.
worst bits.... kirkwall..too short.....not enough bearded dwarves with axes!!!

dragon age isn't that great, just not my thing i guess. i only liked the complex dialoge they had. i guess the second one didn't have that which is dissapointing. hopefully they fix it for 3

I would wait a long, long time for a game w/ DA2 action and DA:O storyline. I would wait even longer for a game lasting about 60-80hours of gameplay with NO DLC (just one epic game)!!!

"dragon age 3 to combine the best parts of 1 and 2"
what part of 2 was good enough to be called the best part of 2?
CosmicBrownies
DA1 was Awesome, I really liked most of that game but it had some problems that i felt were not game crippling. DA2 I was Hyped to No end about until i played it and felt they dropped the ball on. So with the Score 1 Good & 1 Bad, I'll still be getting DA3 but If I could give the Developers a piece of advice, I would say this " Take your Time with this One"
PantsR4Quitters
I did enjoy both games mostly DA:O, it was beautiful in its simplicity which I think more people enjoyed. I just hope in this new one they will be fair to the warriors more. I mean honestly if you were the warrior class in the first one you would never get the 250 damage trophy no matter what you did and let's face it when you played as a mage or rogue in number 2 you would kill guys almost 3 times as faster, not trying to complain. It's just a lot of people play games and pick one main class to work on, can we just be a little fair to the warriors.

DA2 failed because the characters and story all lacked depth and uniqueness of DA1, and the game was infused with Jerry Springer values that the game developers seemed to think were now mainstream & hip. DA2 did have some improvements in gameplay, but they were sadly overpowered by the game's shortcomings. DA1 gave you a feeling of wanting to play it more & more to see what was going to be around the next corner....DA2's repetitiveness, uninteresting story & seedy elements wound up giving you a "I've had enough of this crap" feeling resulting in turning it off & playing something else. I know I WON'T be pre-ordering DA3.

I loved DA2-- I really, really did. So I'm probably not much help in this department, but I'll list some pros/cons to the gameplay that I found personally:
PROS:
Romance; adored the romantic side, craved more of it. Craved more of all the interpersonal relationships to your character, period
Skills; the broad range of skills you could practice in battle was very fun, and added some strategy to how you wanted your character to play out
CONS:
Dungeons; they were repeated, and after hours of gameplay it made it awfully stale
Difficulty; to me it seemed at least, the difficulty level jumped around, usually between Nye impossible to just mash buttons.
Something I would like to see besides what's mentioned above, is maybe a "map marking" feature-- it may not be for everyone, but I personally took notes on the best places to find items and where I bought special character armor. Did I mention I thought this game was lovely? I eagerly await news on when this "threequel" will be hitting the shelves-- updates all the way :)

Wow, maybe they'll finally get it right. you can hate all you want, but part 1 had see-thru doors that you could walk through at times, and part 2 was dissapointing in the combat, just like the first one. Are you honestly satisfied with just swinging a sword downward in slow timed movements, only to be replaced with part 2's cruddy camera angles during battles. Expect more, people, on the real home deal.
implodinggoat
Dragon Age 2 was the worst game Bioware has ever made and the only Bioware game I've ever bought that I didn't finish. There is nothing about that game that should be preserved for DA3.
