Media Molecule is dropping a hefty DLC pack for LittleBigPlanet 2 on September 14. "The Rise of the Cakelings" is a PlayStation Move-centric add-on with that boasts more story, new tools and a large number of in-game objects. There's also the suggestively delicious title; even if you don't know what a cakeling is, you can bet that it's delicious.
Sackboy's adventures will be expanded in the new pack, with the addition of five levels, seven mini-games and two cutscenes that will explore one rogue cake's plans for "doom and destruction." The three newly added gadgets are all built to take advantage of the PlayStation 3's motion controller: The Movinator, The Move Recorder and The Paint Tool. There's also a new Brane Crane power-up (their spelling on "Brane") "that allows you to control objects with the power of your mind. The Move probably helps out there, too.
All of this is laid out in an update on Media Molecule's website for the game, bullet-point-style. There's also a rundown of how many new objects will be added to the game when the DLC launches. There's no word on pricing yet, but with the release less than a month away, you can probably expect to hear something soon.
