Back in 2008, Ubisoft unveiled an action game called I Am Alive at E3 with a trailer and little else. Things have gone slowly since then, with a developer shuffle (from Darkworks to Ubi Shanghai), a few asset leaks and more than one missed release window. We all still continue to wonder if it will ever see the light of day, but a newly leaked gameplay trailer at least proves that there's a game of some kind coming together here.
The story's setting is modern day-ish Chicago, with most of the action occurring in the aftermath of a world-shaking earthquake that registered 10.3 on the Richter scale. Given the game's subject matter and the real-life mid-ocean earthquake that created a cascading set of emergencies in Japan earlier this year, it's no surprise that Ubi held off on saying much about I Am Alive during the summer trade shows.
It looks like the game employs a mix of first-person shooting and third-person climbing/parkour. You can definitely see shades of another popular Ubisoft property in here, Assassin's Creed. This game definitely has a different identity though. Or it will, if it ever becomes a real thing that people can play.

It looks interesting. It's definitely one of those games you'd like to see join the market. Hope it makes it!

I was hoping this game was still going to happen.

Whoa I hope this comes out it looks like Assassins Creed/Uncharted with some FPS elements.

I don't know why specifically, but I am happy about this game, I hope it makes it to our homes sometime soon. Please don't be a fail of a game, because the story along with the gameplay I have seen looks pretty sweet. (hopefully not cop-ing off of Assassins Creed too much)

I thought this game had been cancelled! My joy has been restored.

Nice trailer. Not like the EPIC, CINEMATIC, DESTROY THINGS trailers that I've been seeing alot of lately.

Its been sooooo long! I'm surprised they haven't scrapped it yet, but nonetheless it still looks good

I was wondering whether this game was destined to never be, now my concern is halted at the moment. Might be an interesting one, considering that reading what the devs wants to do seemed to be an intriguing concept. Looking forward to more.

I'd buy it, looks real good but like it was said "if it ever becomes a real thing"
