EA has released a Battlefield 3 multiplayer fact sheet with every SMG, shotgun and scope you could want. There are well over 50 weapons and accessories to choose from. I'm sure there are more way more than 50, I can't count any higher though. On top of weapons, there is also a list of solider equipment and solider specialization.

Iv'e never played Battlefield. Iv'e played COD. Im impressed with Battlefield so far and I think im getting it. Maybe ill find another shooter I like playing with friends :)

@TheSledBaron the SCAR can actually be converted between 5.56 and 7.62 so them having it as a carbine would probably be 5.556
@bobthebaptist they don't really use the ak47 anymore thats what was replaced by the Ak74 which are also in 5.56 and 7.62 they AN94 and the AEK971 are basically the modern versions of the AK47

Just so you know, the M16A3 has also been confirmed from the Conquest trailer, so there may be other weapons not listed here. (Yes, that would make 2 versions of the M16.) Plus, DICE announced that some multiplayer weapons will only be unlockable through Co-op Campaign scoring.

Both games look great and will do well. You cant really compare Battlefield 3 to MW3 though cause the gameplay is so different.
Battlefield is much slower, harder to kill (stop and aim), and you have to be aware of buildings falling on top of you or tanks blowing holes in walls. Also a lot more team based warfare.
Modern Warfare is classic twitch fps. Im so used to Black Ops now that I forgot what MW2 was like. But it's still twitch. Very fast paced, very easy to kill (aim down sights and shoot - Battlefield takes gravity into account). It's also a lot more solo based warfare as everyone is trying to get their killstreak going. We'll see if MW3 is any different, but I have a feeling its still going to be twitch.
Both games will be great and do yourself a favor and buy both.

I don't like the fact that I'll have to watch out for claymores every time I go to steal the dog tags of a Wookie noob. I'm not too happy claymores are in the game, but they are a staple in modern military so I can understand.

Its a good list, I am hoping this isn't exhaustive though. There are quite a few BC2 goodies I'd like to see thrown in.
I so hope the mortar is like the one from BF Vietnam.

That looks sweet! Kinda depressed that the GOL was removed, but oh well. Also I noticed the lack of a tracer pistol, does this mean its up to you to hit air support and tanks? 'Cuse its not gonna be easy to hit a heli or plane without a way of locking on... someone please correct me if I am wrong :)
