The free Portal 2 DLC announced by Valve in April will be released in mid-September. According to Valve's own Doug Lombardi, "That's still technically summer." And he's right! Summer officially ends on September 22, so we can hopefully expect the downloadable content by then.
But let's be serious, this is Valve we're talking about, so it's not surprising that the DLC has taken a very long time to see release. "DLC #1" will offer new test chambers, leaderboards, challenge mode for single and multiplayer modes, and more. It will be absolutely free of charge for all versions of the game, including Playstation 3, PC, and Xbox 360.

Props to steam for the free DLC seems like most game companies just seem to see us "gamers" as cash cows now a days.
But as for the update im really happy about it because in portal 1 there was difficulties to the test chambers "least portals, fewest steps and time trails"
but in portal 2 there was just easy mode it seemed as if portal thought we learned nothing from portal 1 and decided to put our training wheels back on :/ trust me i know how to shoot a portal gun "face palm"
I was also happy because I was thinking my purchase of portal 2 to be a total waste of my money, and the thought that I was going to have to make my own levels in Source SDK was going to make me a sad panda :(

I CAN'T WAIT!
Valve are awesome, the timing is perfect, I've now finished Portal 2 for the 2nd time and waiting until September to play it WITH the DLC, well that will make if feel all brand new again :D
Will be great if it's incredibly difficult too.

and this is why valve is the best video game company ever. this would never happen for a call of duty game, or most of the games that are done today on consoles. maybe it is because valve has a vast experience on PC, in which this sort of thing happens more often, or maybe they are just awesome (i don't know). But i do feel that we console gamers are unfortunately getting used to paying for dlc, when this sort of thing should be free as a complement for the support that we the fans give to their products... or maybe i'm just crazy.

Hell yeah - bring it on

Oh, I'm hoping they port that motion control DLC from the PC release to the PS Move. That would be the final incentive for me to get the Move.

What happened to the L4D 2 dlc?

I really hope this is real. If it isn't I might just have to do something drastic.
