“Operation Moonfall” is the name of a grassroots campaign to encourage Nintendo to release The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask on the Nintendo 3DS. The online petition was only in existence for five days before it reached 10,000 signatures.
I know what you're thinking, because at first I thought it too: "Great another online petition bound to go nowhere..." Nay I say to you non-believers, the petition was started because of an interview with Eiji Aonuma in Nintendo Power.
“One of the things which made [The Ocarina of Time] remake possible was that there was an outpouring of emotions from people who said they would like to see this game done… I think certainly if there was a similar… clamor from fans for a remake of Majora’s Mask, it wouldn’t be an utter impossibility.”
Aonuma is basically saying, prove to us you want this game and that you'll buy it. The Nintendo 3DS isn't doing so well, a fact that is evident by its price cut. Nintendo will most likely be cautious when choosing which games to remake for it. If this petition continues to grow, Nintendo might consider.
Do you want Majora's Mask for the 3DS?
