UPDATE: Looks like I was mistaken about this being a new game release. Producer Yoshinori Ono confirmed in a tweet that Ver. 2012 is a "retune" of SSF4, set to release this fall or winter. That's still a long freaking title though.
Few publishers love a long, complicated title as much as Capcom does, especially when it comes to the Street Fighter series. The latest announced release in the fighting game franchise may actually be the biggest mouthful yet: Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition Ver. 2012. Uhh... yeah. It was announced over the weekend at the EVO fighting game championship and it's coming your way next year, just like it says in the title.
That's about all the information there is on the subject for now. Ver. 2012 will be the third Street Fighter 4-spun release in as many years, which must be a welcome change for fans that waited almost a decade for something new after the various iterations of SF3.

@DPsx7- We may have our differences of opinion when it comes to the PS3 and 360. But no one can argue with your comment. Next Gen games have became a money trap once gamers were introduced to DLC.

Just adding flames to the fire here, but I assume there is a really good reason this is not being released as DLC.
PS I am still mad at Capcom about the whole Mega Man thing.

They've taken this next gen fighting game craze way too far and is now just milking people for their money.
When they finally answered everyones request for a return of street fighter everyone including myself couldn't be happier. Then they had all this DLC and we thought great so much content!! Then they came out with Super Street Fighter 4 and we said...um...okay...don't really get why I need another version when it could just be more DLC??...But Okay I'll bite.
Now they got Version 2012...Really!!!???? Like version 2011 wasn't enough, so they had to bring us back to where it all began like a year ago??
I'm only counting down the days when they will announce the same crap for MVC3.

Yeah, it should be just an update. I already purchased the Arcade Edition. I'm not gonna spring for a retune. Why didn't they take care of this in the beginning. So far I've paid $80 for this game. If they want me to have this new one they better let me just trade my old one for the new one with no charge. Simple as that.
