Harmonix isn't releasing a new Rock Band game this year -- our living rooms and plastic instrument-storing closets thank the developer for that -- but its been maintaining a steady pace in the DLC department. Weekly additions to the game's song catalog continue to arrive, and this week marks 3,000 available downloads in the Rock Band Store.
To celebrate, Harmonix wants to give you some free stuff, to the tune of 100 songs apiece for 30 lucky winners.
The contest details are posted on the Rock Band forums, though you'll have to act fast as the entry deadline in Thursday, July 28 -- that's tomorrow -- at 11:59pm ET. You don't have to jump through any elaborate hoops to enter; it's as easy as heading to Facebook, Twitter or the RB forums and following the related instructions on the rules page linked to in this post.
Ten winners will be randomly selected from each of the three entry methods, with 100 songs going to each winner. Also, in case anyone is wondering, the band honored with putting the Rock Band Store over the top this week is Yes, with a newly available five-song pack (including "Owner of a Lonely Heart" and "Starship Trooper"! prog rock ftw!).

I am SO sick of contests being run through Twit and FB. Not everyone uses those crappy sites. I wish there was a way to force their closure...
100 songs is nice, but are they random or do we choose? My poor HDD would fill right up too.

Its complete bull that Canada always gets screwed for stuff like this. im sorry that were over an imaginary line but we buy your games we pay for your downloadable stuff what makes us less deserving of your contests. we have 300 songs available to download up here too ive downloaded about 1000 of them i think its about time you give me some free stuff back

5. Prize Winner Selection/Notification: There will be ten (10) prize winners (each, a Prize Winner ) randomly selected from among all of the Eligible Entries in each entry method on or about July 29, 2011. HMX will make up to two (2) attempts over the 48 hour period following the Prize Winners selection to contact the potential Prize Winners via Twitter public message. If a potential Prize Winner cannot be reached through those efforts during the 48 hour period following the selection of that potential Prize Winner, that potential Prize Winner will be disqualified.

Yeah, I have 263 million fans and am currently making progress toward Completionist. It will still take at least a year or two though, as I am not a hardcore player or anything. Just got my second drum pedal to complete the kit, so I'm excited about trying that out.
