Here's a friendly public service announcement for you Resident Evil fans. Capcom has confirmed to MCV that the upcoming HD refreshes of Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil Code: Veronica X will be released both on disc and in digital form for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms. These will be day and date releases, so you'll have your pick.
The publisher also confirmed each game's U.S. release date. Both will arrive in Japan on September 8, with North American release of RE4 coming a few weeks later on September 20 and Code: Veronica X after that, on September 27. Is anyone keeping track of exactly how many HD remakes are coming this fall? These, Silent Hill, Metal Gear Solid, Shadow of the Colossus / ICO... it's getting a little silly, right?

Also Zone of the Enders (though not definite about it being a HD remake as just being ported to the newer consoles)

I hoping the games are least $19.99, thats a good price range. But then it's again it's Capcom, who loves screwing with gamers, $29.00 or wosrt yet $40.00

My PS3 Is backwards compatible. I play PS1,PS2 And PS3 games on it

I actually like the HD remakes since the PS3 is not backwards compatible(WTF) and the 360 is sort of backwards compatible(seriously). It's the only way to play old games now, or if not that then have them as downloadable content.

I really want to know why they are not being released on one disc. I have a hard time believing these two put together would top the 7 or so GB limit, even considering that they are upscaled, also, I hope they don't chop out big sections of Res $ like they did on PC. And yes, I know the reason they released these separately is the money factor, meh.

I'm kinda mad that they are releasing RE4 HD on the same day that Gears of War 3 releases.... I was hoping it would be released before Gears 3.

I think its a good idea because these games have not gone out of style, considering all the new stuff being released is compared to games like these. How many Kojimas are there in the world? Only one. same with Shinji Makami. Yeah, thats right! Screw Ninja Theory!!

Silly, no. Awesome, yes. :D

i think resident evil 4 is the first game that was actually taken outdoors. i really didn't like the direction they were going with that so i kinda ignored resident evil games ever since. the new one coming out probably early 2012 has caught my attention though. i always found class based shooters more enjoyable than the rest so maybe it will work with a horror game. actually i kinda take that back cause its hard to look at resident evil as a horror game these days.

I love Code:Veronica, but why not 2 or 3 first...
