Mass Effect game creators Casey Hudson and Mark Protosevich were on hand at the Legendary Films panel during Comic-Con 2011 to talk about the upcoming Mass Effect movie. According to Casey, the true strength of the series comes from the characters. They declared that the Mass Effect universe is as strong as other sci-fi and fantasy films like Star Wars and Lord of the Rings, which will help translate the game in to an epic movie. They assured the audience at the panel that their movie will be different from other video game movies.

I thought they confirmed it was being animated I may be mistaken.
However I pray that they don't do anything with the plot of the games after all the story is supposed to be your Shepard's story, do a first contact war movie or something along those lines. If they feel the must do game plot movie use the cast of the games after all Shepard's voice doesn't change except with gender and I'm not sure anyone else could do Tali justice other than Liz. her voice made the character.

I did mention this in an earlier ME movie post, I think the story shouldn't be the ME main storyline in the game. Considering the different choices, side quests, and male or female gender choice, it's hard to appease everyone with story choices. I think it would be best to tell a story that pertains to the universe, but not with Shepard as the main character. Maybe it can be alluded to him/her, but it shouldn't come into direct contact. I like the idea of telling the story of before Saren found Sovereign, where Anderson was on the mission to be the first Human Spectre.

i feel they should use Karl Urban as the lead.. he did well in LOTR.. and was ok in doom (but i blame the script on that one).... As far as your comment goes on the Super Mario movie.. they could use a reboot.. as well as Double Dragon (OH NO, thats right i said it...lol)

I wish they would break Mass effect into a couple of movies. I just dont think the mass effect story can be told in two hours without it turning into transformers

Mathew Fox should definitely play Shepard. He looks like the default male Shepard and he's already typecasted as a Shepard, a leader who does what it takes to get the mission done.

Max Payne was a horrible "Video Game" Adaption. Honestly the guy who wrote the script and everyone else involved in the making of that movie (aside from Mila Kunis, Beau and a few others maybe Oh Sucre, the guy that plays Lupino) needs to be pulled out into the streets and shot in the legs. Seriously it's the prime example of the owner of Max Payne movie rights not caring about their Brand and pimping the Max Payne name out to make a few bucks.

I pray to god that Legendary Pictures does not make a "Super Mario" movie and please don't stray from the game plot as in "Resident Evil". Mass Effect is ME.
