Two new characters from Soul Calibur 5 were set to be revealed at Comic-Con 2011 next week. The plan to reveal them at the con was laid out by Team Soul member Daishi Odashima. Turns out Odashima couldn't wait and tweeted a screenshot of a female ninja dressed in red today. There are currently only five Soul Calibur 5 characters that have been confirmed, not including today's reveal.
The red ninja lady doesn't have a name yet but she does look a bit like Taki, except with lighter hair and smaller boobs. Last month when Odashima was aked about Taki he said, "Is Taki returning? Well you know, she’s getting a little old. But then again ninjas are like super humans… hmm.." My guess is this new ninja is Taki's younger sister. I have just named her Noki. I chose that name partly because I'm a narcissist and partly because gnocchi sounds good.
The other character, a male, and more details about Noki, the red ninja, will be revealed next week at Comic-Con. G4 will be covering the reveal so check back regularly for updates.

Yeah...um not all that original with this one. She is a complete rip off of Taki. But I guess since they haven't had her in the game for a while, this new character will do. Chances are they'll probably write into the story that she is from the same clan as Taki, or something like that.

Soul Calibur has always been my preffered fighting game, with that said..
Anyone else a little turned off by the thought of some familiar characters to the series may not be in the game this time?
It's sort of like if they took Subzero or Scorpion out of a MK game, I couldn't imagine..
I havn't read/heard any hard facts of who is and who isn't going to be in there, but there are rumors floating around.. and none of them make me exactly happy as a SC fan.
New Characters are great, but replacing the old with them is not so much.

"Taki getting a little old."??? Really? Please... could have fooled me. Her balloon breasts and figure rival that of Ivy's. Well, either way, this girl seems a little "flamboyant" looking to be a real ninja. To much teen ninja pop. >.< But this is just one picture so we will see.

Is she the love child of Mitsurugi and Setsuka? Maybe Setsuka died and Taki somehow became the one to raise her? I pay too much attention to Soul Calibur''s plotlines...

yeah this is hardly stimulating, this is like an alternate character from one of the missions. i'd like to see them really explore CHI, other elements of war, but also weapons and styles, there are a lot of things at the ren fair that incorporate flow. I would love to see any fighting style incorporating flow added to the game that has realistic weapons, there are more in stock outside of the carl jung archetypes we have now. I can appreciate what we have though for sure, I miss soul caliber!

I predict most of the returning characters will be male, while the women, now being at least in their mid-30's will be put out to pasture, and have their move sets and weapon types inherited by new fighters. Admittedly, I don't play fighting games very often so I wouldn't know, but have you ever seen an older woman in a fighting game?
