According to a Joystiq interview with Darby McDevitt, lead writer of Assassin's Creed: Revelations, the game originally started out as the Nintendo 3DS game Assassin's Creed: Lost Legacy but was eventually morphed into the newer, shinier, console title. Lost Legacy followed Ezio Auditore as he traveled East in search of the lost castle at Masyaf to investigate the holy land. This same idea will still be played out in Assassin's Creed Revelations, but we'll now be able to go much more in depth with the story for Ezio's final installment.
I for one am glad that AC:R is heading to gamers in console format. The Assassin's Creed handheld games generally don't hold up to the epic feel of its console counterparts. What about you? Would you have liked to see another Assassin's Creed game for handhelds, or are you happy with the choice to move Lost Legacy to the console in the form of Revelations?
Assassin's Creed: Revelations is coming out for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC in November.

All I want is AC:3. I'm not saying ezio isn't awesome, because he is. I just think that ubisoft should move on to the next ancestor. I mean, it is a tad unrealistic that a man in his 50's is in better shape than in his 20's, don't you think? Brotherhood was believable enough, with the "old man" jokes in the beginning, but I will be constantly reminded that it's just a game in revelations. Still gonna be good, though!

how can i miss it if it wont go away? at least this game that is getting rapped and over produced is actually good unlike cod. i love assassins creed so much but i dont want to play it every Christmas

I think this a good choice. I have a 3DS and love it and I love Nintendo all together but AC being a home console only game seems like a better idea. I never played the hand held ones but it seems on the DS, 3DS, or the PSP I don't think AC would work well on any of them.
I will get this one for PS3 and I look forward for the one on WiiU.

lol, and here is where i stop caring about the game. originally written for a nintendo handheld and yet they still expect us to believe its a well written masterpiece (or even close). Especially considering the predictable disaster that was brotherhood, I wouldnt hold my breath for this game to be good...

Well, with how much more power the 3DS has, they very well may have been able to do something more substantial with it, but with less limits in the major consoles, I can understand them moving platforms.
Though I think the Vita looks very promising for larger titles like this on handhelds.

Revelations is watering down what was once an origina, unique and FRESH IP.
It's stale like Fall of Doody in the toilet.

I just want asassins creed 3, i'm tired of Ezio's story. But, i do like the new location, it does have a look that is completely different than asassins creed 2 and brotherhood

yeah, AC isn't AC unless its big scale so I don't think it lends itself to handhelds. With that said though, I'm not as excited for Assassins Creed games ever since they decided to do this trilogy within the trilogy if that's what this is. I didn't pick up Brotherhood until it was $30 and i'll be doing the same with this one.
Now, give me a Assassins Creed 3 with a new character set in ancient Japan and i'll gladly preorder that in haste, but lets get the show on the road here Ubisoft.

I tries playing one of the Assassin's Creed games on my DS and hated it. You just don't get the quality and depth that a studio can put into console game compared to a handheld title. I can not wait for Revelations!

i would probably never play it on a handheld advice it takes away the whole experience i mean imagine playing halo on the ds or something like that...........no just not fun

Ubisoft probably knew they would sell more copies on a console as compared to the 3DS.

Major games like this, MGS, God of War, and so on just aren't meant for handhelds. So yeah I'd prefer this on PS3 as well.
