Along with today's Call of Duty Elite beta launch, Activision has also offered some new information in a press release for those who wish to attend the Call of Duty XP 2011 celebration that is happening in Los Angeles over Labor Day weekend. Tickets cost $150 and you'll be able to buy them starting July 19 at 10am PDT.
A single ticket will get you into XP for both days. There is a two-ticket limit on all purchases, so clans should probably embrace the buddy system to keep things organized. All attendees must be at least 18 years old -- this is an M-rated game after all -- and a valid photo ID will be required for entry.
The event's centerpiece is the $1 Million Operation, which is a 32-team, single-elimination tournament. The winner team of four players will receive a $400,00 award on September 3, though there's $1 million overall in cash and prizes on offer. For those who aren't on the pro gamer level, the centerpiece will probably be the presence of playable Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer modes.
Buying a ticket doesn't just guarantee you entry to XP, it also makes you a better person. As was previously announced, 100 percent of the event's proceeds go to the Call of Duty Endowment, a non-profit which helps returning veterans reintegrate with civilian life. You can find more information, including an interactive map of the event, on the Call of Duty XP 2011 website.
