Battlefield 3 Gameplay vs. The Real World: What Do The Military Experts Think?

Every shred of Battlefield 3 revealed by DICE so far has been impressive. So much so that the PC gamers among you have got to be wondering what it's going to take to run this thing. You may have your answer now, thanks to what appears to be an accidental weekend posting of the October-releasing game's PC specs on the company's website.

Here are the specs:

Minimum
Hard Drive Space: 15 GB for disc version or 10 GB for digital version
OS: Windows Vista or Windows 7
Processor: Core 2 Duo @ 2.0GHz
RAM: 2GB
Video Card: DirectX 10 or 11 compatible Nvidia or AMD ATI card

Recommended
Hard Drive Space: 15 GB for disc version or 10 GB for digital version
OS: Windows 7 64-bit
Processor: Quad-core Intel or AMD CPU
RAM: 4GB
Video Card: DirectX 11 Nvidia or AMD ATI card, GeForce GTX 460, Radeon Radeon HD 6850

Pretty reasonable on the low end, and about what you'd expect for a 2011 AAA video game release for PC. Interesting to note that the disc version requires an additional 5 GB of storage space. That can't all be copy protection, can it? The specs may not be accurate of course, but it's hard to imagine this information popping up on GameStop's product listing without it coming from somewhere.

I dont think my dualcore amd athlon II and my hd5670 1gb would handle this game very well although it has surprised me quite a bit already with some of the games it pumps out! Still nonethe less i can play this on medium settings if i dont get the cash intime!

Just ordered a 6870. If I have that, a Quad Core (3 ghz), 4g of DDR3 Ram, this game will run well, right? That is according to the recommended setup.

My rig very well met the recommended specs. If you got a good enough PC, play it on that platform, seeing as the consoles won't support 64 players, dedicated servers and DirectX 10 or 11.

Quad core processor? Athlon II Triple core 3.2ghz :-/
    4GB Ram? Check.
    Windows 7 64-bit? Check.
Graphics card equivalent to or greater than GTX460 or Radeon 6850? Check. Radeon 5830.

Also; anyone that things 6850 is better just cuz card number is higher is either trolling or stupid.

Those are not the official specs> Dice has yet to release anything office. Those specs have been on the web for months and were put up by BF3 blog which is an unofficial blog.

Pretty low end specs. Either this is a mis-print, or this engine is just so wicked a 4 year old computer can run it with no problems. Hmmm. I am going for the latter. Battlefield has ALWAYS been a stable franchise. Me? I am running an i7, 8GB of DDR3 RAM, and a 1GB DDR5 OC'd Graphics card... I think I am okay... right? lolz

PS3's graphics will be better than the 360's. As usual. As always.

For a gamer PC these specs are honestly low.. I am running 16 gigs of ram, Quad core 3.41 processor and a EVGA 580 GTX 3 gig card.. If your a gamer you gotta have the best..

These really a lower specs to be honest for a gaming pc
