Last night I played both Duke Nukem Forever and Alice: Madness Returns on my PC. For both games I was using a wired Xbox 360 controller half of the time and the other half of the time I was using my mouse and keyboard. I'd never used a controller with a PC game before but I found that, especially with Alice, the controller worked a lot better for me than the m/k controls. But in Duke, a mix of controls worked best. The first person shooter aspects worked better with a mouse, whereas the RC car parts were better with the controller. Long story short, I'm wondering if you've ever switched around your controls like this and if you've found that some games just work better one way or the other. Or, do you use weird hotkeys and settings when you play games that other people find abnormal? For example, I always use the "R" button for autorun in every game rather than "Numlock."

For the most part is M/K, if the game supports 360 controller ill try both, but i will mostly just M/K. The precision is so much better and higher.

They should remake the Duke with bumpers for the 360

For the original Xbox I only used the bid duke controller and couldn't stand the S one. Is that wierd enough?

mostly only play fps on PC, otherwise it's console.
but for fps's with m/k i map reload, grenade, and zoom/binocs to my mouse (mx510). i dont change much with keyboard buttons, and i havent tried to use a controller on the PC. i might have to give that a try sometime.

Im sure you played both of those game last night. Why don't you mention how horrible the controls are for duke nukem in the morning hangover?

No mention of the absolute nutjobs that use inverted controls? It's your POV, not flight controls! lol

playing FF 14 i used the wired 360 controler and the keyboard.
For GTA IV on the PC i use a 360 controler.
for AC 1 on the PC i never could map the 360 controller that i use right so i mostly just mouse and keyboard it.
and yes i use R for run.

I always use the R key to autorun as well. I tend to always make my "map" key E and my quest/mission log Q for easy access. This is not just limited to MMO's, mind you. :) As for controllers, I've always stuck with Mouse/Keyboard even though it sometimes feels awkward on games like Assassins Creed. I definitely prefer it on Splinter Cell.

silicon knights is a scary dev they are like obsidian!!!!
over hyped , over budget , constant launch delays , and poor handeling.
they are the delorean of the video game world. i love marvel and xmen but i believs denis dyack will have nobody to blame this time around not epic or there unreal engine.
i'm just bitter because i was sooo hopeful for too human and i WAS hopeful for xmen destiny until i read silicon knights and then i sighed!!!

I like to use the 360 controller on the PC if the game supports it. For my PC gaming I got a Merc Stealth board its way better that way and you can dl presets for all the keys for any game you want.

I got Portal for free from Steam, and I never touched it until i got a wired Xbox controller
