The May NPD hardware results are out and the Xbox 360 has topped the console charts for the fifth month in a row. According to NPD, the Xbox 360 sold 270,000 units in May and its sales were up 39% over last year. The PlayStation 3 sold 177,000 units and was up 15% over last year. Sales of the Nintendo 3DS were pretty light, but the NPD expects a jump in 3DS sales with the release of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D this week.
Overall the PlayStation 3, PSP, and Xbox 360 saw sales increases. What do you think of the results? Did you pick up a new console in May to play some of the triple A titles that hit? Let us know below.
