John Carmack's Rage

Rage, the ominous-sounding id Software successor to the Doom and Quake franchises is just around the corner. We know, because we tried it. And rage is exactly what you'll be feeling as you blast your way through the mutant hordes and dystopian sandbox future of the game's setting. Or at least, it was for G4TV.com's Nikole Zivalich:

"Not sure how to progress, I panned the room and noticed a white generator with rainbow glowing lights. Rainbow lights in Rage? Surely, they must be blown up.

Turns out my instinct to destroy the beauty around me was correct. I found some EMP grenades that could be used to disable the generators controlling the lasers. Several more rooms were blocked by lasers, but thankfully, a rainbow generator and supply of EMP grenades were never far away. Eventually, I came across motion sensing turrets; again when in doubt, destroy the pretty colors."

Remind me to never dress up around her. And also remind me to remind you to check out our full Rage gameplay preview! Oh hey, look at that: it worked.
