Get ready to wield your invisible lightsaber and use the force when Kinect Star Wars force pushes its way on to the Xbox 360 this winter. Kinect Star Wars will include different modes set throughout both of the Star Wars trilogies. "In the "Jedi Destiny" mode -- which will be showcased at E3 -- you play one of several new characters in a story that begins shortly after the events of Star Wars: Episode One -- The Phantom Menace and concludes against the backdrop of Chancellor Palpatine's rise to power on Star Wars: Episode Three -- Revenge of the Sith," said Entertainment Weekly.
You'll also travel to places like Bespin, the giant cloud city from The Empire Strikes Back, and fight against the evil Darth Vader. In Kinect Star Wars you'll get to use "use the Force" to lift or throw objects, and you'll also be able to use your hands to mimic driving a pod racer, firing the guns on an X-wing fighter, and yeah, wielding a lightsaber. The devs also mentioned there will be a voice component, perhaps Jedi Mind Tricks, but they haven't confirmed or denied those to be true.
"What we found early in development is that [no one wants] to look like 'Star Wars kid' in front of [their] friends," said Craig Derrick, LucasArts' lead producer on the project. "If I am doing these actions, and if I am seeing the character on screen repeating those actions, I want to look bad-ass. We decided to augment the animation, so when I sweep my hand right to left with my lightsaber, it’s going to look cool. That was a major challenge and it works."
Are you going to be picking up Star Wars Kinect when it hits stores this winter? We'll be sure to give you even more Star Wars Kinect details during our extended E3 2011 coverage so stay tuned.

That demo made me feel bad for the guy on the stage. The movements were so painfully slow from what he did to what came on the screen, the lightsabre slashing looked like it was in Molasses and the force using looked even more painfully terrible. Nothing about the demo was impressive and was Easily the biggest disappointment of stage time.
Everyone wants to be a Jedi that's a fan of starwars but NONE of them want to be the reject who moves with the speed of a snail.

Im hoping that it'll at least have something similar to Star Wars Arcade, that game format would have been perfect for wii but who knows

I really hope they don't blow it. Star Wars games are almost as bad as Star Trek games. There's a handfull of gems amoung a mass of horse crap. Actually, if it's good then I will buy a 360 with Kinect. I almost bought a Wii back when I heard about the force unleashed coming to the system, good thing I played it at a friends first. Totally underwhelming.

Actually if it is one to one, I don't mind looking like starwars kid lol

this doesn't make any sense. so is it a story game where you play through episodes 2 and 3 with a bunch of mini games attached? whats with the kiddie graphics? I hear people complain about the 'cartoonish' graphics of SWTOR (which i don't agree with), but this looks terrible. its not even cool stylized animation like in The Clone Wars TV show.

good strategy, most casual consumers bought the wii and never bought another game, so get the casuals early on and then follow up with hardcore to keep software sale up. Please keep on giving me kids titles also though not as much kid friendly stuff on the 360 for my kids

even if its not that good id still buy it hell people are buying duke nukem and that demo was kinda bad

This better be worth it. Same with SWTOR, which I think we're all anticipating a release date.
