Nintendo at E3 2011: We Predict The Future For Project Cafe, Mario, and Zelda!

Nintendo has already let part of their E3 2011 cat out of the bag by telling us that they'd be introducing a new console for sure at the show, setting the wheels of wild speculation and rumor into full speed. Will it feature touch screens? Will it be more powerful than the Xbox 360 and the PS3? Will it have a Mario or Zelda title at launch? WILL IT BE THE SECOND COMING? No one knows. Also, we're hoping they make up for the anemic 3DS launch by announcing some new titles for the handheld that blow our socks off.

E3 means that rumors, predictions, and speculations run rampant for nearly half of a year as gamers imagine what might be coming, while developers tease and hint at things to come. Here are our predictions for Nintendo at E3 2011.

Nintendo at E3 2011: We Predict The Future For Project Cafe, Mario, and Zelda!Moye Ishimoto, Hanglider

  • What Might Happen: Nintendo’s new console will be white.
  • What Will Never Happen: Nintendo’s former Executive VP Cammie Dunaway makes a triumphant return and this time, she won’t be wearing a pants suit.

Nintendo at E3 2011: We Predict The Future For Project Cafe, Mario, and Zelda!Nikole Zivalich, Sword Bearer

  • What Might Happen: Nintendo will announce their new console. I've named it the Niintiindii. It will boast HD graphics, a 250 GB hard drive, and old school gaming controllers. Please?
  • What Will Never Happen: VITALITY SENSORS FOR EVERYONE!

  • What Might Happen: Nintendo's new console announcement will cause a fever pitch of excitement, but will have few launch titles.
  • What Will Never Happen: Nintendo Buys LucasArts and restructures the entire company, ousting George Lucas in a power play, and revamps, uprezzes, and re-releases all of the classic LucasArts adventure game titles. Full Throttle HD, on my Wii2!

Nintendo at E3 2011: We Predict The Future For Project Cafe, Mario, and Zelda!Leah Jackson, Pigtail Wearer

  • What Might Happen: Super Smash Bros.: InsertFightingSynonymHere will be announced for the new Nintendo Console, and eSports fans will get very, very hyped.
  • What Will Never Happen: Project Café will have more than one decent launch title.

Nintendo at E3 2011: We Predict The Future For Project Cafe, Mario, and Zelda!Antonio Hernandez, Partier

  • What Might Happen: Nintendo will announce a new console and unveil an HD Zelda title.
  • What Will Never Happen: Nintendo announces a new Earthbound game.

Nintendo at E3 2011: We Predict The Future For Project Cafe, Mario, and Zelda!Eric Eckstein, Motion Tracker

  • What Might Happen: Skyward Sword will be positioned as a Project Cafe title as well, Donkey Kong will come to 3DS and when revealed Tuesday morning, the new Nintendo console will make fan boys weep and cheer during a business press conference.
  • What Will Never Happen: Luigi gets yet another spin-off game, this time for Project Cafe, and no one else likes it except for me.

Nintendo at E3 2011: We Predict The Future For Project Cafe, Mario, and Zelda!Dana Vinson, Island Girl

  • What Might Happen: Nintendo's new console will focus less on motion control, and more on performance. Though the launch line up will be light, there will be one or two system sellers that no one will be able to pass up.
  • What Will Never Happen: Reggie will announce that he got so good at basketball playing Wii Sports Resort, that he's leaving Nintendo to join a professional basketball team. Also, a Dr. Mario TV show.

Nintendo at E3 2011: We Predict The Future For Project Cafe, Mario, and Zelda!Stephen Johnson, Hacker-Upper

  • What Might Happen: Nintendo and Netflix will announce that Netflix movies will be streamable on the 3DS, in 3D.
  • What Will Never Happen: Nintendo reveals a brand new IP that’s on par with Zelda, Mario or even Animal Crossing.

Nintendo at E3 2011: We Predict The Future For Project Cafe, Mario, and Zelda!Sophie Prell, Robot

  • What Might Happen: Nintendo will unveil Project Cafe, people will marvel at its ingenuity and the L.A. Convention Center will barely contain the massive nerdgasm.
  • What Will Never Happen: Nintendo outsources Mario and Peach for a dramatic re-imagining, courtesy of Team Ninja. Mario is now a ninja, Peach is reduced to stereotypical, incapable girl-child status (with huge goombas, if you know what I mean) who only gets kidnapped because Mario didn't authorize her to resist.

Nintendo at E3 2011: We Predict The Future For Project Cafe, Mario, and Zelda!Matt Keil, Infamous

  • What Might Happen: The 3DS Mario game is shown off and is impressive enough to make a few skeptics into believers.
  • What Will Never Happen: The conference turns out to be 90 minutes of Nintendo begging forgiveness for Metroid: Other M.

Nintendo at E3 2011: We Predict The Future For Project Cafe, Mario, and Zelda!Jake Gaskill, Procrastinator

  • What Might Happen: Nintendo’s new console will dazzle everyone with its technological potential, but unlike years past, the lineup of titles will not only be extensive but also the most core-centric lineup in Nintendo’s history.
  • What Will Never Happen: Shigeru Miyamoto will not appear in some form or another holding a sword and shield.

What do you think? What will Nintendo pull out of the bag next Tuesday?

Nintendo fanboys are 10x worse than any other fanboy,

    1) they deny the obvious and are very VERY ignorant
    2) nintendo has only been successful this past decade because of gimicks, nintendo fanboys always deny nintendo uses any gimmicks, (3DS - 3D, Wii - motion controls, DS - touch controls/dual screens, project cafe - touch screen controller)
    3) nintendo fanboys always claim other companies copy nintendo, (sega master system is where nintendo got most of their "ideas", 3D, motion controls, etc. )

    4) did I mention their very ignorant? Well i'll say it again

I like Nintendo too, but wow sorry to break it to you but people make cracks at nintendo because in recent years there track record has been slowly dieing, i mean realy think about it you don't here "outstanding best seller" as nearly as often for nintendo console titles as you do with the xbox and ps3..........and metriod other m had far to many problems to get a 4/5 maybe a 3 but i agree with G4s rating a majority of the time.......they need to focus on series where it was at its peak (my opinion) the Metriod Prime series.

    What might happen:
Nintendo will win back it's original followers with the super badass GameCube successor that has better games and graphics than anything we've ever seen thus far.
Motion controls will be implemented into an oldschool controller that vibrates, has a pointless touch screen and a gyro sensor.
Skyward Sword will be revamped and pushed back as a launch title.
Iwata will come out holding the system in one hand with a smug look on his face.
Reggie will talk about how Nintendo's products are far superior to those of "other companies."

    What will never happen:
The controller will have a built in rechargeable battery.
Reggie will not make a fool out of himself on stage in-front of 20,000 people.
Miyamoto will make a speech entirely in English.
Animal Crossing will be a brand new game unlike anything we've ever seen before.
Starfox will make a comeback and push millions of units.
MARIO WILL DIE A HORRIBLE AND PAINFUL DEATH.
Link will become Nintendo's new go-to guy.
The Legend of Zelda timeline will be published as a book with the Official Nintendo Seal of Quality.

What Might Happen: Nintendo Shows Sales Charts and Talks about how well they're doing. Then Nintendo laughs and shows us all these games coming to Wii (as one big last Hurrah) and 3DS. And Finally project Cafe is shown and gets a release date and price tag

What Might Happen:Unveal 2 new Zelda games for the 3DS that arn't remakes for the Legend of Zelda 25th Aniversery and will release the same date as Skyward Sword with a Zelda themed Wii and 3DS. Plus another badass RE game like RE4

What will never happen: Nintendo sells themselves to Sony or Microsoft.

    haha, huge goombas.

miyamoto must be drained by now. he keeps using the same characters in the same games over and over again trying to find a way to top himself.
i would really like to know what keeps him going.

while wii music was more misunderstood than anything, i dont think this guy has ever phoned in a game and used his executive status to get away with it.

What might happen: Nintendo gets everyone hyped up for a new gaming platform that has one or two good titles, Zelda, for example.

What will never happen: Nintendo actually releases a gaming platform that is capable of competing with Microsoft and Sony.

P.S. I would rather have a Super Nintendo or Nintendo64 then a Wii any day.

What might happen: The new console is a technological marvel and finally gets HD and blows everyone away. Unfortunately, it costs more than a used car. What will never happen: A ultra realistic Lord of The Rings mature type of Zelda game that I know I've wanted for a long time.

What might happen: Nintendo will push back all the dates on the 3DS games people actually want...

What will never happen: Nintendo announces it will be making 3DS versions of all of its classic N64 games much like Zelda. Also, a new discrimination feature has been added to animal crossing... nook: "we don't serve your kind here!'

What might happen: Nintendo will unveil a technologically marvelous HD console and garner a huge launch lineup of AAA superior 3rd party games officially turning the current gen on its head and ushering in the next one and people will somehow find a way to clal it a gimmick but get one anyway

What will never happen: Nintendo will somehow mess up showing off a new technological powerhouse of a beast of a console and everyone will be justified when they say gimmick

With the 6 inch touch screen now confermed, it could bring a lot of different types of games that were never really controller friendly. I am thinking the touchscreen could be used to map buttons for RTS's and MMO's
