The PSN Welcome Back Program kicked off today but not without a hitch. Many gamers are reporting problems when trying to redeem their free games. The European PlayStation blog has acknowledged some gamers are having issues downoading their games. They recommend logging into your PlayStation Network account and choose Account Management > Transaction Management > Services List. From here choose " “PlayStation Network Promotions” and select "PS3 Free Games" or "PSP Free Games." Click "Select Content." This, in theory, will take you back to PlayStation Store to choose your games again.
We at G4 also wanted to redeem our Welcome Back codes. Upon entering the PSN I got an error, 80710D36. After exiting out and entering again several times I was able to access the Welcome Back program waver icons. I clicked redeem PS3 Game 1, chose Dead Nation, and got the same error. I tried again several times and a screen came up confirming my purchase, however the title wasn't in my downloads or games. I restarted and went back and my Game 1 icon was gone.
I wasn't the only person who had this problem, as I discovered by googling the issue. That's where I found the EU PLBlog tip to go to Account Management. I got the same 80710D36 error. Never one to give up, I just exited and kept trying. After at least eight attempts I was able to follow the steps and reactive my download.
Is anyone else having these issues? Did the recommended fix work for you?

when i tryed to dl my ps3 games for some reason they just vanished? Iv looked all over my ps3 for them but they cant be found? When i tryed my psp games they dl and saved just fine. The problem is i dont own a psp and could care less about those games. Any idea on what happened to the ps3 games?

Yeah this is a problem. But like it says you gotta go to Account Management > Transaction Management > Services List and then PlayStation Network Promotions" It works but it took me all day to download the free games. You just gotta be patient with it. Also Playstation Home is giving away free stuff. 100 items to be precise.

Let me see if I got this right. We couldn't get our games because too many were trying to get theirs at once? I guess this is a Greedy Greedy never gets sort of thing. Its kinda funny, Playstation Network was brought down by hackers and was brought back up only to get attacked again by crazed free-craving users. Im just glad to be back online.

I got LittleBigPlanet, but when I tried to download game #2, SuperHD Stardust, I got some weird error code, was forceably signed out. When I finally got signed back in, the "2nd choice" was gone, no game was downloaded or queued for download, and if I wanted the game I apparently was supposed to pay for it :P

i got the samething as everone else but its taking a good min 2 dl but i dont care its "FREE" stuff

The same exact thing happened to me. I was able to download game one. But in the process of clicking game 2 and clicking "get it". The error code came up and when I went back to try it dissappeared and I can no longer click on game 2 to retrieve it. I emailed sony what had happened and how can I get the "welcome back game 2" button. They emailed me back telling me to try again later but still no go. And they never answered my question in the first place. Maybe this will work.

Finally got mine to work. Go to account management, transactions, services, select sony promotion, then reselect your games

same issue for me, took many, many times to get my stuff and then because of the errors I only got 1 free game,Infamous, downloaded twice instead of 2 separate free games. I would complain more, but since the first full episode of the 5 episode long Sam & Max: The Devil's Playground game is free. Even this morning the Playstation Store is still buggy as hell,get to fixing it Sony!

k this solution worked for me and if you get the error just try again cuz the network is trying to satisfy alot of people at once

I was able to download infamous and little big planet however I had to back out a couple times and the error message did pop up so i just went back and tried again and it worked its just taking forever to download

Upon purchasing my 4 free games I got the error messages, but when I when back out the main screen they were all downloading in my active download lists. Not precisely sure what other errors are occurring to keep that from happening, but my games downloaded fine despite it saying there were errors.

Well, folks, this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. Everybody was so eager to get their free stuff, the system crashed. These things happen.
I want some free stuff too, but I'm going to let the servers' lighten their load first.
Don't start bitching because you're trying to do the same thing at the same time as millions of people and it's slow going.

i think though the wait was for ever sony rushed the work to open it up cause they were hurting for money with out fixing all the bugs and i find that completely unacceptable and expect more free compensation for the stress that their shotty work is putting me through. every thing i try just pops up error even if its as simple as getting into my account settings

Well yeh I kept getting the same error message but I got everything that Sony promised. Call me a Sony fangirl if u want (cause I am) but with all the stress of not being able to get on the PSN...I never gave into the Xbox 360. I let it remain gathering dust like it always does. I tried to download the two games, never worked and the offers no longer appear in the store. Tried the account management way to access the games, but the menu is empty...WTF. If the game offers have disappeared from the store and don't show up in the services list, what do I do?
