PSN Welcome Back Program Available Now

The PSN Welcome Back Program launched today. Sony intends to use the Welcome Back Program as a way to thank its customers for their patience and loyalty. The PSN Welcome Back Program is available to all PSN members who signed up for accounts before the PSN outage on April 20, 2011, which is just about everyone who has a PSN account since you couldn't make one while the PSN was down. Users will get to choose two games for the PS3 and two games for the PSP.

PS3 Games:

  • Dead Nation
  • inFAMOUS
  • LittleBigPlanet
  • Super Stardust HD
  • Wipeout HD + Fury

PSP Games:

  • LittleBigPlanet (PSP)
  • ModNation Racers
  • Pursuit Force
  • Killzone Liberation

The content provided in the Welcome Back Program will be available until July 3. Once you have the games on your console, they are yours to keep. Sony has answered a handful of questions people may have about the PSN's Welcome Back Program, check it out if you still have questions.

I totally understand that there is an increase in traffic, but I think Sony is handling their communications poorly. I called their support and after 20 minutes of waiting, I just got a generic recording saying we are unable to take calls now and they hung up. Their website has a generic message saying site maintenance, and when the media contacted them, they declined to comment. If you mess up, just admit it, don't shut everyone out. Just my opinion All I want to do is change my password and use my netflix account. :)

It does work. If you get an error while trying to get games, just hit back and keep trying till it goes through. Im sure there is a lot of people trying to get there free games right now so it will be a bit sluggish and buggy. I just kept trying and it will always eventually let you through.

I keep getting error messages on psn store.
And while I tried to pick a game, I got an error message, and when I try again it looked as if I had picked one of my free games but it hasn't downloaded it. Sigh.
    Ironic?

I'm not coming back to PSN. Sony keeps getting hacked to this day so how can anyone be so sure their network is secure? I've learned my lesson, let's just hope Sony learns theirs.

Error messages are popping up like weeds at the moment, but you can get to downloading if you're persistent enough. And patient...
