According to Sony, the PlayStation Network will be fully restored this week all over the world. In the United States, that means the return of the PlayStation Store, in-game commerce, and the ability to redeem codes and coupons, so gamers will finally get the chance to redeem the make-good gifts Sony promises us in recognition of our inconvenience, as well as download demos and videos.
"We have been conducting additional testing and further security verification of our commerce functions in order to bring the PlayStation Network completely back online so that our fans can again enjoy the first class entertainment experience they have come to love," said Sony Computer Entertainment president Kazuo Hirai in a statement.
Returning the PSN to full functionality before E3 next week must be a top Sony priority, after all, it just wouldn't do to have Sony go into the big show with a crippled network.
As for your free gifts from Sony, the company hasn't yet given full details on how PSN subscribers will be able to get their free gifts, but when they do, we'll make sure and you know.
