Gears Of War 3 "War Pigs" Campaign Trailer

Gears of War 3's "'War Pigs" campaign trailer has been talked about and teased for a month now. We even posted a 10 second GoW 3 teaser trailer for it last week. Now the time has come to reveal the real deal. Gears of War 3 continues the story of Marcus Fenix and his fellow COG soldiers as they battle against the Locust.

Gears of War trailers have always made a splash with their song choices. What do you think of "War Pigs" by Black Sabbath for Gears 3? I think it's the perfect song choice. This one is sonically different from the original, it must be a remixed version.

I can't speak for the members of Black Sabbath but I here I go anyway, the lyrics sync up well with the Gears trilogy. It was probably written about Gears of War, and maybe WW2 or Vietnam. It's my second favorite video game trailer to date. Being second to the Super Smash Bros commercial where Mario and Donkey Kong punch each other is an honor, I assure you.

How the hell can it be written about Gears of War or any other video game when the song is from 1970...

Saw the new commercial with Mazzy Star and thought it was great so I looked for some more commercials. Watched this and saw the short blog post.

Could you get better educated bloggers?

This song version is specifically for the commercial. Parts of the song are sung without backing vocals and those were the parts mixed into the new cut. The song was not written for any war, or video game ever, that followed Vietnam. This was specifically an anti-war song written in the 1970's.

You'd think your blogger would have put some research into the song since they quoted some of the lyrics.

Great! Cant wait to see it come out! Just wish to see another trailer like the Mad World one. That was the best trailer for the entire Gears of War series!

Its not something I would say was OMG! though in the end, I am watching the trailer because I am a huge gears of war fan. So I cant really complain. No matter how good or bad the trailer is, im still going to get the game. ^::^ (Pein face)

This trailer is nothing compared to the Mad World trailer. Still looking forward to the game, but the music for the trailer is garbage.

I took the entire week of Sept 20th off from work just so I can take my time and enjoy the campaign and multiplayer!! So looking forward to it.

Watch it on Xbox Live instead, you will have a better quality version of the vid. Especially one that can do 720p or 1080p! Ooooooh, it will be eye candy to watch on there.

They seemed to take this stuff in a different COD like direction concerning the advertising. I liked all of the other previous trailers with the softer music because the advertising was a stark contrast to the intense firefights and carnage found in game. What's up with the departure?
