Eventually, every game series you love will return... as a facebook application. According to a report on MCV, The Simpsons and Sim City are both getting the social game treatment. The Simpson's facebook game is scheduled to come out this September, where SimCity is reportedly in the works too. Both are reportedly the work of Electronic Arts.
I have no details on either game--in fact, we're relying entirely on the article posted to MCV--but that's not going to stop me from speculating. A Simpson's game could be anything. The important thing about that franchise are the iconic characters, so you can basically do what you'd like with them. SimCity on facebook, on the other hand, is a much more interesting proposition.
SimCity could give a serious run to current king of the social sphere, Farmville. The game's sandbox nature could actually work with the facebook platform, if it's done correctly. I could see a very addictive, interesting collaborative city building application for facebook taking over a lot of the gaming space of facebook.
Personally, I wonder if facebook is "over." Sure, there's a lot of people using it every day, but based on nothing but anecdotal evidence, I see the beginning of a defection. I used to be a pretty frequent facebooker, but every time I log on anymore, it's like being spammed with weird quiz requests, advertising, and other unpleasantness. So I've migrated pretty fully to Twitter, and I'll bet I'm not alone.
What do you think?
Speaking of Twitter, follow Stephen Johnson's twitter feed. Also, email me if you wanna.

The twitter certainly seems to be where things are going...the more things go...the less I use facebook to actually keep up with friends....instead being addicted to games that are pretty much all just pressing the "do mission" button until I run out of energy/action points....
that being said...I literally have no use for twitter aside from the name of the service enabling me to call users twits or tw@ts....
It's not like I go anywhere or have a "smart" phone or anything....
Perhaps it's not actually going the way of twitter though....in fact...that could simply be the illusion...due to the fact that all sorts of celebrities use it and as such most tv shows, movies and other such sources are filled with it.... like hoodies....who actually wears those aside from peeps going to rob the 7/11?

Honestly,Face Book games are really lame, especially the text based ones with pictures and Super Hero City are really bad to pay because you really don't have control over your characters movements,it's all automatically controlled by the computer,it's not a real video game to me because a real video game is where you have control of your video games characters movements.

I personally don't have a single friend that uses twitter! Maybe about 3 of them have a twitter account but never use it. I want nothing to do with twitter myself. If you ask me, twitter is whats useless. Good for nothing but stalking celebs or trying to win something on AOTS.
