During a 2K Games investment call, the company confirmed that shooter Spec Ops: The Line has been pushed back into the first half of fiscal 2013.
The ninth game in the Spec Ops series was announced back in 2009 with the intention of releasing in 2011. Spec Ops: The Line had a trailer and a gameplay video in 2009 and a multiplayer beta was active in 2010, so the game seemed on track for a 2011 release, but the release date has been pushed back to 2013. Take Two gave no reason for the scheduled change, and there is no official release date for the tactical third person shooter.
Spec Ops: The Line is set to launch on the Xbox 360, PS3, PC.

looking forward to this game. its sad though that many ppl buy this game based on multiplayer. when this game obviously focuses on single player campaign story. if this has a good single player campaign then i would gladly buy this game never stepping foot into multiplayer
it needs coop though if it doesnt have it already

I was excited for this game, then I got in on the MP beta. Now I'm not excited for it at all.

Cool. I thought this game was cancled because I haven't heard of it for a while. So I'm glad to see it wasn't forgoten at least

The beta was just awful. I hope with these couple years of development time they completely re-do the game.

I had a beta key. I liked it (as i do most shooters) but it was just sluggish. couldnt do it anymore and stopped playing. looked like it did have promise but I agree with the early posters, definitely needed a lot more work. but 2013?! LOL. im just glad i dont have to wait for MW3 or GOW3 for that long. orm ayb they knew that they couldnt compete with those releases. this fall is gonna be curazy for both 360 and ps3.

Na, I'm just kidding. It looked intersting when it was first announced, but there really hasn't been much info on it, other than it's now coming in 2013, so I can't really say I'm excited for this. None the less, I wish this game good luck.

Bummer. I wonder if they will still show it at E3 this year. I was looking forward to this game.

I was in the beta it was rough, show promise but it was clear it was in the early stages of development. Also they sent out so few invites for the beta it was hard to get a game going, overall when i did play it was a fun experience very much like the Uncharted mp, hope all goes well with this title delays are good sometimes but this is a substantial setback.

This definitely makes sense. I made it into the multiplayer Beta for this, but it never really worked (at least for me) and on the rare occasion where it did work I was never able to find more than two or three other people in the matchmaking system. I was pretty interested in the mechanics of this title when it was first announced so I'm perfectly fine with them taking some more time with it and hopefully they'll have a much more polished game to present next time around.
