Radio preacher Harold Camping may have seen the end of the world coming this past weekend, but I think he got the dates wrong by a few days. If there was a ever a sentence that seems to herald the end-of-days, it's this one: Duke Nukem Forever has gone gold. After more than a decade in development, the manufacturing has begun. The game is being pressed onto discs.
Christoph Hartmann, 2K’s president, said, “Duke Nukem Forever is the game that was once thought to be unshippable, and yet here we are, on the precipice of history."
The game is scheduled to be on store shelves on June 14 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC, and while everything looks to be in place, I've been holding my breath for over 10 years and I won't believe it's real until I'm actually playing it.
