An Ace Attorney film may be among the next video game movie adaptations, thanks to director Takashi Miike. Speaking to reporters at the Cannes Film Festival, Miike said that the film is already in production. While he declined to give a title, no courtroom-based games exactly leap to mind or point the finger - OBJECTION!! - like Ace Attorney does.
Reportedly, Miike also said the film will be a light comedy. Well, thank goodness he cleared that up. And it will certainly be a change of pace from the only movie I've seen of his, Audition. But hey, at least he's not Uwe Boll.

Havn't we learned from all the other games that have been turned into movies they rarely if ever end up being good.

Hopefully it will A. star Phoenix. While the other characters are fine, I really hope they have Phoenix as the main character and not someone else. I don't think I have too much to worry about, but I can see it happening. B. it will be translated into English. I'm assuming it's being made in Japan, and I know about the whole Prof. Layton/Ace Attorney not comming to North America because of the lack of sales of the AA games. That could be an issue with the movie also.
I really hope this movie does well. I love the AA series, and if this movie does well, we might get a TV show out of it.

I'm actually surprised they never did make it into a half hour show on Cartoon Network or something like that. It always seemed to fit to me.
I'm kinda worried about a movie, though. Especially if it's live action. I don't think the comedy would translate well to live action. Unless they leave out the comedy and sci-fi elements. But if they do, they may as well change the title to "Law and Order: The Movie."
