IGN may be looking into selling their digital distribution platform, Direct2Drive, according to MCV UK. If their reports are correct, next week the #1 game rental service, GameFly, will be buying Direct2Drive from IGN. GameFly already has an interesting array of business acquisitions including ShackNews. Direct2Drive is one of Steam's biggest competitors, it makes sense that GameFly would be interested.
How do you think GameFly would use Direct2Drive? Would you be interested in renting a downloadable title?
