Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu got its first look at Soul Calibur 5 last week and confirmed a lot of details on the upcoming Namco Bandai fighting game while producer Hisaharu Tago shed new light on various aspects of the beloved franchise.

As we already knew, the game will take place 17 years after Soul Calibur 4 and the main character will be Patroklos, son of Sophitia. What we didn't know however, is that Patroklos is 177 cenimeters tall, has a B blood type, and was born September 13. We've also heard he's indifferent to unicorns and believes paper clips should be abolished for 'obvious reasons,' but we haven't confirmed that just yet. Regardless, he takes after his mom in terms of weapon preference, favoring a short sword, and will also use the Arcadia Shield.
The magazine also mentions Siegfried who will be 40 in Soul Calibur 5 and will once again wield the Requiem weapons he used in Soul Calibur 1 and Soul Calibur 2. Tago confirmed that Soul Calibur 5 will feature guest characters, like Soul Calibur 2's Link, Spawn, and Heihachi Mishima, but didn't mention who they're bringing in this time around. We can also expect special weapons but Tago wouldn't give any specifics.
In the end Tago promised not to let fans of the series down, so we're all hyped about what to expect when Soul Calibur 5 hits next year for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Kilik & Maxi!! Those are the only two characters I would like to see in order to be a happy gamer. Cervantes would be cool to have back in the game too!!

Please, no more Star Wars characters. Yoda was by far the most annoying character to fight against due to him being to short to hit with half of my attacks.

I'm glad they gave the kid a Sword and Shield. Now, hopefully, when i make a guy character with that style, he won't prance around like a girl.
Also, i hope this comes out on Nintendo's new console, too... provided it is what we think it is.

I wouldn't suprise to see Krato in Soul Calibur 5 for PS3 but what about for Xbox 360? Will they following Mortal Kombat like no special character for Xbox 360?

I wish Link Spawn and Heihachi would be in all the versions just because they were awesome. I never got a chance to use Heihachi but Spawn was awesome!

I always thought Lizardman looked a little goofy doing Sophitia's moves, so hopefully they'll be redone for this new character.

Thanks but no thanks Link, Spawn, and Heihachi. Give me back my Hwang Seong-gyeong thank you very much. No Assasin, or anything funny like that. just give me him back so I can destroy my friends with him as Hong Yun-seong has gotten too much airplay. Thank you.

Here's hoping for Kilik, SC2 was the last actual good game IMHO, it got bogged down by extra stuff in the subsequent iterations.

Hm. So they basically gave us the same information that we already had? And i swear, if Tira isn't in there, I will have to do something drastic and unrealistic. : /
