Gears Of War 3 Adds Torque Bow Tag -- X-Play's Sketch Sparks New Game Mode

Gears of War 3's multiplayer beta got a new feature this morning, Torque Bow Tag. What started out as a joke in X-Play's Carmine Buys Life Insurance sketch eventually became a 127 page thread on the Epic's forums. In those pages fans discussed adding Torque Bow Tag to make it into Gears of War 3. Today fans got their wish, Torque Bow Tag was added as a mode in the beta.

Torque Bow Tag was featured in Gears of War 2 last August during the Labor Day XP event. The way it plays in Gears of War 3 is a regular Team Deathmatch mode except seven torque bows spawn throughout the level. You spawn with a lancer and a shotgun and have to run through a level to find a torque bow. While I'm glad X-Play's idea made its way into the game, I wish they had gone full Torque Bow Tag: a level where the only weapons are torque bows.
