Dragon Ball Game Project Age 2011 is the next Dragon Ball Z game from Namco Bandai. The game now has an official teaser trailer showing off Goku's moves. We don't know much about the upcoming game other than it's supposed to be different from the past DBZ games. Based on this teaser trailer, I don't see what's so different but I'm definitely optimistic.
According to a press release Dragon Ball Project Age 2011 "features upgraded environmental and character graphics, with designs drawn from the original manga series. Destructible battle fields, including massive craters and ki energy blasts cutting across the sky deliver a more dynamic experience and immediate sense of urgency to the exhilarating fights."
The game will have a more "enhanced" story mode with a wide variety of characters from the series. Fighting will play an important role with its "accessible battle system allows gamers of all ages will be able to hold their own in fast-paced battles, while still retaining tactical depth for hardcore fans." I'm still not seeing what's so different.
I would like this Dragon Ball Z game to have character progression as the center rather than being solely a fighting game. It wouldn't need to be a full on RPG but an action-adventure style game where you get to play as Goku as a child (Dragon Ball) into a adulthood (Dragon Ball Z) and then back into childhood (Dragon Ball GT) would be rad.
Dragon Ball Project Age 2011 is probably just the code name for the title. It will be "coming soon" to the Xbox 360 and PS3.
