Activision, I am disappointed! I just finished listening to Activision's first-quarter financial call and the company did not announced a release date for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Instead, Activision head Bobby Kotick said the next Call of Duty initiative will be announced in "weeks" and will be accompanied by the biggest marketing campaign in the company's history. It will also be integrated with Project Beachhead, Activision's slightly mysterious digital content platform for Call of Duty.
I've also seen the huge "3" that is apparently featured in the next issue of UK's Official PlayStation Magazine (that's it, to the right), and read the rumors of a November 8 release date too. Putting all this together, I'm ready to make some predictions.
- Prediction 1: Modern Warfare 3 will be released in November for the 360, PS3 and PC. November 8, to be precise. I'm not going far out on a limb here: That's the second Tuesday in the month, and analogous to the release date of past Modern Warfare games. Every fall since 2003, a Call of Duty game has been released and it seems to be working out okay for Activision. Lately, Activision has been alternating between releasing a "numbered" game and a non-numbered game, this would be the year for a numbered game.
- Prediction 2: This release date information will be confirmed at E3 this year, between June 7 and 9. Kotick's statement about revealing more details in weeks leads me to believe this. It's not too out-there to speculate that Activision would make an announcement at the largest gaming show of the year.
- Prediction 3: You will have to pay for some aspects of multiplayer in Modern Warfare 3. According to Activision, Project Beachhead will be integrated into the next CoD game, which is presumed to be Modern Warfare 3. In the past, Activision has said that Project Beachhead will provide "premium, value added" content that is exclusive. According to industry analyst Michael Pachter and I, this means you'll be paying a fee to play Modern Warfare 3. How much you'll pay, and what you'll get for your subscription remains to be seen, but if I had to guess, I'd say some small fee (like $5 a month) will give you a lot of content -- maps, weapons, customization options and more. This will make it seem like a bargain and people will be happy to pay for it.
So what do you think of my predictions? Got any of your own?

What makes the premium feature and paying for online completely stupid is the fact that they will be coming out with an other CoD game one year after it any ways and people will just be switching to the new game after 1 year. That means they will only receive a large amount of people paying for online premium features for the first 1 year. They have not thought this threw good enough yet. As they stopped releasing map packs and new content for MW2 after Black Ops came out. The same will go for MW3 unless they do some thing to change and fix this trend.

To get clear all of the idiots yes its this year for half you tards that haven't seen that each year there is a new Call of Duty out.
Now for the (Premium) that is...well you can say either a Bonus or Extra they are not forcing you to purchase this, call of duty will be played online just like the others have been played online. There are just new changes more enhancements to the multiplayer new security and much more.
So stop whining and making faces about a charge that your not being forced to make, its your call. This is like any website with a VIP Area or Premium that gives extra features and more.

ok, so wait xbox players will have this charge? Ummm excuse me Activision, *tap on the shoulder* I already pay $50 A YEAR SO BACK OFF WITH THE CHARGING RUMORS!

Well if there is a fee coming, it surely won't be a measly $5. Activision is greedy and I'm sure it will be about $10-$15/month. No one cares about gamers who are shelling out a crap tone of money to purchase these games. Priority one for them is padding their pockets, not showing any sort of loyalty or consideration for their already massive fan base for the franchise. And I guess we won't be able to hold them to their word that comsumers won't have to pay for CoD multiplayer.

Don't care, all I know is bobby nodick couldn't even pay me to get this next steaming pile of crap CoD game.

I'm tired of buying a new Cod game every year. They are not much different from each other and I would rather just put the money into DLC maps. Also if these predictions come true I will definitely stop buying Cod games if they start charging a fee to play. The way I see it is if it's successful then everyone will jump on the band wagon and do the same. Sure $5 may not be a lot but if you buy more than one game a month it'll add up fast. Not something I'm willing to do. I would be more particular in the games I buy and will only spend on games with good campaign stories. So that would definitely leave out Cod.

Mmmmmm, I can already taste the formulaic gameplay.

Don't know and don't really care anymore, COD has been run into the ground just like madden and the guitar hero franchise. If they stopped cranking out a game every year and did one every 2-3 it might not be so monotonous

COD sucks.

I don't agree wi paying 60 simloens for a game than coughing out another 5 a month just for the same snow maps with different buildings. Plus Crysis, Brink, BattleFront(If they come to Xbox360) are all good games to urn my attention to. Your not playing this NPC.

Call of Duty is a franchise that has lots of potential to be great yet in every game they let us down in some way..it's usually a small thing that escalates into a huge problem..in mw2 it was the 10 million hackers and non dedicated servers..black ops had crappy guns and maps and nothing to keep people playing once they hit max prestige..if they charge for mw3 they'll lose a lot of buisness because who wants to pay a monthly fee to get screwed by hackers and potentially bad multiplayer? star wars has an MMO coming out, gears 3 will be out soon, battlefield 3 is aimed to take down COD, and brink just got released so COD needs to step up their game or they'll get swept under the rug..it's bad enough paying 60 bucks for a game filled with hackers hopefully they don't make it worse by making ppl pay to play with hackers..i won't do it..they said before they'd never charge but it's a big company and i don't believe that they won't screw us if they can because their CEO wants to charge extra for something that is the key principal behind COD..most ppl don't buy COD for the campaign..we buy it for the multiplayer..notice other games don't have the hacker problems COD does? they need to crack down on that instead of laughing at us for paying for crappy anti hacking measures

After reading all 6 pages of your guys comments, one thing is for sure, all you guys who say that they will not buy MW3 are just talking now. Every year its the same crazy comments I read and every year its you guys infront of the line or preordering the game and paying activision. The only different this year is that we have BF3 coming out and I also looking foward to this game, but just to talk out of your A$$ is dead wrong. We haven't seen anything about MW3 and we are already making stupid comments about it. I agree with your guys that Activision needs to come up with something new, but at the same time for the people who are saying that BF3 will destroy COD is a bit over the top. BF3 will be a good game to pickup this year, but I would be SHOCKED if it beats CODS in Sales.
I mean just look ar MW2 and now Blackops, if the trend continus, then MW3 should be beating out Blackops Sales Figures. At the sametime I see BF3 taking some spotlight too.
So in the end, I would like to say to all the haters on COD, please STOP. Let's see what MW3 will be and then we can decide to buy it or not. I am in the same boat. I know I will be playing BF3, but at the same time if MW3 Kicks A$$, I will be Pre-ordering mine soon!
BTW that Pay Service, I agree Activision has to be pretty stupid to pull that off. It will Piss off alot of the gamers and COD Fans!

sooooooo freakin sick of COD games, do something original... these are becoming like the furious movies or some daytime soap.... so predictible. The games are fun and enjoyable no doubt but the simularities between the CoD's is all too the same... Looking forwards to BF3 tho!
Raidr211
Who cares Battlefield 3 will destroy this game..... Nothing more needs to be said.

Come on paying for multiplayer that my friend is B.S.! Cause well I dont wanna sound like one of those A-holes the complain about everything, but in Australia we have to pay $110 for the game which is steep enough but to pay an exstra $60 a year thats a $170 FOR A FREAKING GAME! WELL I SAY NO THANK YOU! its too steep. So they should make it FREE.
