Real Life Portal Turret Replica: Nugget From The Net

Portal fans are some of the most devoted and creative fans out there and yet again they've managed to completely shock and awe us, as cinematic animator Ryan Palser has created a real life-size replica of a Portal turret. According to Palser the 38 inch turret doesn't move, "but it does speak, has full motion sensing audio as well as a special button to play the ever classy Portal theme song."

For all of the images of the turret you can check out Ryan Palser's Flickr page.

That may be the best thing I have ever seen on this website. Thank you for that. A nugget indeed.

Am I the only one that wishes the guns were real? Even if they were just air/paint-guns it would be neat.

It would be nice if there were more than just one photo here. Can't get a real feel for it's likeness to the game turrets cause all I can see is the side of it.

It's the same principle used at laser tag places. They fill the place with a slight amount of mist using a fog machine, and you can see the laser trails all over the place.

Thats so cool. However maybe I am just stupid but I thought lasers that left a trail like that did not really exist?
