Bin Laden Operation Celebrated In Two Games

Osama Bin Laden

This Saturday, Kuma games released their Osama Bin Laden chapter in Kuma War. There's also a Counter-Strike map so players can relive the glorious victory of the U.S. over the terrorist leader again and again in their homes. To be fair, the Counter-Strike map is simply a recreation of Osama's hideout, not a full fledged, "let's kill Osama" game, but it's still interesting, both in terms of how quickly the game and map appeared, and in terms of what they say about how we feel about war.

While I'm as pro-America as anyone, I'm not sure celebrating the death of anyone, even the king of terrorists, is necessarily all that healthy. While we obviously needed to neutralize the guy, and I applaud the people who did it and the people who organized it, I'm not sure it's in anyone's best interests to be too rah-rah about it. I mean, as bad as Osama Bin Laden was, he was still a person, and taking anyone's life (even Osama or Hitler) is a heavy, serious thing to do. I'm not sure celebrating it in video game form is the most tasteful response to have.

Anyway, because you need to check it out, here's video of Osama's death, from Kuma's game:

So what do you think? Am I letting my bleeding-heart tendecies show by being a bit reticent to wave a banner? Or should we be more reverent about Osama's death?

    Ladies and gentlemen,
This is your friendly state sheep with a reminder: Baaa-baaa baaa USA! baaa baaa more grass in my trough please. Terrorist, terror, terrorism, terror, al Qaeda, al Qaeda, terrorist, terrorism, terror, swine flu, epidemic, terrorism, terror. Baaaa baaaah. Praise the oligarch! Please continue shopping, do not question things. Everything is ok. Terrorism, terror, terrorism. Please discuss the royal wedding and Jersey shore. Your ruler has everything under control. Please submit all your personal information and submit to being searched and scanned so we can protect you. Terrorism, terror. Do not be alarmed but the person next to you may be a terrorist. The only way to know is to report them to homeland security. Baah. This is just a video game and certainly does not have any political message behind it. If you think there is something more to it then please turn yourself in to homeland security or your local law enforcement for a tasering or bludgeoning with a truncheon of peace. Terrorism terror.

    Just remember:
    War is Peace
    Freedom is Slavery
    Ignorance is strength.
    Baah baah baah.

    Thank you.

    Stephen,

First off you are Not as Pro American as anyone as you stated in earlier based on your comments that I've read on g4tv.com over the past 2-3 years.

Secondly, 3000 innocent Americans were killed and the fact that we killed OBL in retaliation does not make America evil and anyone who thinks so is ill informed and deluding themselves. We killed an evil man for the wrongs that he's done against the world and in no way can anyone justly compare the America to OBL

Evil is when the supporters of Usama flood the streets and celebrate the deaths of the 3000 innocent Americans that were murdered on 9/11.

    I believe in American Exceptionalism!!!!

Yeah, you do seem to be letting your left-wing show a bit there. (Hey, you asked the question, I'm just giving you an honest answer).

OBL's death is something to rejoice about. It gives people a sence that they haven't felt in a while; hope & justice.

These people want to burn our house down and dance on our graves. They hate us, so much so that they would kill themselves just to see our downfall. I have no sympathy for them. They're the murderers, not us.

What is wrong with you people? He killed thousands of innocents, American and Muslim, and we are supposed to feel bad about him getting shot in the face? Give me a break, he deserved it. it's just a shame we couldn't get him alive so we could line up and spit on him.

first thing is that hitler is overrated. stalin killed more people then him but thats not important.
but i think people will be upset over this as any game that featured a modern conflict had before. and while i agree osama needed to be taken out the way he was is something im not to fond off. it sounded more like he was executed to me. and plus lots of innocent people were killed in the process, which really isnt making us any further away from acting like him. just because there members of the binladen family that does not make them like him. thats what i think anyway

I agree with you Stephen that there is nothing to celebrate in murder. There are in fact many circumstances, not the least of which is the destruction the US has committed across the Middle East, which ought to be reflected on more than this guy.

ninurta no offense but saying Osama's death brings closure to the 911 families affected by this is a pretty moronic statement, there is no closure in that. It only means Osama is dead, and the queen bee killing supposed to fix everything no one ever said that, no one. It just means that a man that was in charge of commanding evil ways is dead. Yes the USA has done things that we/it is not proud of but I see us always trying to choose the LESSER of two evils. It seems that perfectly good has never been an option in the game of life. Right. Oh and about the up and coming larval evil of queen bee offspring rising up, there will always be someone to take up good and EVIL causes (of course, duh). Does that mean we don't fight against it because there is always someone to take someones place, come on guy, think then type.

Imagine if you mother or father were on one of those plains. What if your brother or sister were in one of the top floors of the WTC? I Guarantee you would call Osama a Monster if you were personally affected by his actions. It makes me sick to see people trying to show that monster any kind of respect, because doing so shows Complete Disrespect to the 1,000's of Innocent Americans who died that day. I agree with Kaiser2Chief, They were Monsters and Enemies of the World! I could care less to see that piece of garbage getting Exploited in Games or movies. Hey if someone make a buck on his behalf then more power to them. It's the least that his memory deserves.

So, killing the queen bee is supposed to fix everything? What about the other larval queens just waiting for the chance to rise up? Osama's death is only closure for people affected by the 911 attacks. It's too bad that nobody ever thinks about U.S. secret missions to overthrow governments and assasinate people who only differ in ideologies. Our crimes against the world aren't televised. Our crimes against the world are what spawn people like Osama bin Laden

Does nobody remember that the United States government trained and funded bin Laden's forces 20 or 30 years ago?
