Sony may be hit by yet another attack this weekend. According to CNET, hackers are planning to attack Sony's website in the next few days. The attack is said to be a response to Sony's handling of the PSN security breach. The plan would be to publicize some or all of the data hackers were able to find on Sony's servers. This would potentially include the names, addresses and credit card numbers of more than 75 million PSN users.

A group of hackers were talking in an IRC channel when someone who either overheard or was a part of the conversation told CNET about the plan. These hackers claim to have access to Sony's servers.
This is, of course, not confirmed, especially since no one has taken credit for the attacks. In Sony's statement to the US House of Representatives they claimed to have discovered files hinting at Anonymous involvement, such as the words "We are legion." Anonymous has repeatedly denied their involvement and further condemned the theft of credit card numbers.
Sony did not get back to CNET about these reports.

Even being an Xbox player, I think it's time people leave the PSN alone... PS3 users have went long enough without online capabilities. Let them get back to their gaming..... I hope Sony takes all the information they have gathered and learned and makes an impenetrable server so this doesn't happen again..... Regardless of the motivation behind it, this isn't fair to gamers.

I've been following this the entire time, and now I can say/type that it's all getting really stupid. I'm not a computer person. I know nothing tech-wise about hacking, or about why hackers hack people. I don't know if Anonymous is responsible or not. What I do know is if Anonymous really wanted to prove their innocence on this they would put aside this rivalry with Sony for the moment and help them figure out who really did it. I'd never heard of Anonymous until they started clashing with Sony over Geohot. So in my opinion, if they're such awesome hackers, want to proof they didn't do it, and really do care about people's privacy like they said in their recently released statement. They would find a way to work with Sony, find the person(s) responsible for the PSN hacks, and then get back to fighting with Sony. Thank you very much for your time.
