PSN, Playstation Network

Sony may be hit by yet another attack this weekend. According to CNET, hackers are planning to attack Sony's website in the next few days. The attack is said to be a response to Sony's handling of the PSN security breach. The plan would be to publicize some or all of the data hackers were able to find on Sony's servers. This would potentially include the names, addresses and credit card numbers of more than 75 million PSN users.

NEWSSony To Offer "AllClear ID Plus" Identity Theft Protection For Free

A group of hackers were talking in an IRC channel when someone who either overheard or was a part of the conversation told CNET about the plan. These hackers claim to have access to Sony's servers.

This is, of course, not confirmed, especially since no one has taken credit for the attacks. In Sony's statement to the US House of Representatives they claimed to have discovered files hinting at Anonymous involvement, such as the words "We are legion." Anonymous has repeatedly denied their involvement and further condemned the theft of credit card numbers.

Sony did not get back to CNET about these reports.

Obviously you guys just see "hacker" and flip out and make some stupid remark of "ooo i hate hackers, all should d** and have something horrible happen to them" how about you read about the group and what they do.. just google "Anonymous group Wiki" and see all the good things they do.

Also, just because sony is pointing the finger at anon, doesn't mean they are guilty of the PSN breach and theft of user data. They said they didn't do it, unless one of their members did it themself.. but i really think whoever hacked in to the PSN framed Anon.

Now i'm not defending anon or anything, but i just hate to see people getting framed for something.. but all i see is sony pointing the finger right now... we should point the finger at sony for not encrypting our data and having out-of-date server software, that most of the good hackers been pointing out to them for a really long time.

These turds must be EXTEREMLY sensitive to light, that's why their in they're mom's basement hacking people who don't deserve it.
Everyday these go to they're computer, and find something to hack. They find they're victim, hack them like a douche, and eat Cheetos outta their own ass.
Such is life in a mom's basement.

How could there be another attack if the network is still down? There is still no access to anything. Besides, I know no security is completely secure, but the security will be new this weekend, and it will take a little time to crack new security. It sounds like big talk, like saying I'm going to rob a bank before the security is upgraded. Sure its possible, but it's gonna take some time to case it, so while I know Sony will be attacked again, I doubt it will happen this weekend.

remember guys..... if this gets worse and sony loses 24 billion dollars, they are bankrupt and thus end of sony for good. already lost their printing capabilities in the earthquake. minus 3 billion there. this may be the death of sony.

This violates the spirit of the first couple of attacks. The first couple showed just how vulnerable sony was and just how much information they are leaving unprotected. as of yet, no money was stolen from innocents. To turn this around and make personal information public certainly hurts sony, but more so it damages millions of people who's only crime is to buy a PS3, and attach a credit card to their account. I understand why hackers would be angry with sony, but I don't think making personal information public is any way to get their point across.

its not just a mater of improper security
its like locksmithing if there is someone who can make the lock theirs someone who can break the lock
so it really dosnt matter how good there security is.

im shore if they tried there BS on the Xbox live they could get just as much from them as from sony

this is just a bunch of people living in there mothers basements with some beef against sony and a want to punish them for some reason .

ya some of sony's business practices are abysmal Way more so with the way they treat there MMO customers then with the PSN (in fact in my experience i haven't had any problems with psn)

and i can sort of see there point ounce you own the hardware and it enters your house it should be yours to do with as you please short of messing with the network or cheating on online games and as long as it doesn't effect any one else .
and sony did go too far by suing that guy they should of just band his Ip address and account and bean done with it instead of taking liberty's and telling him what he can and cant do with his own property.

But this is going way to far and there not only attacking sony but all of us as well
    and it should stop

    Hearsay is news?

As for those self-righteous, self-important vigilantes (See: Criminals) responsible I say we skip due process and just publicly execute them, or have them spend the rest of their miserable, long life in a North Korean gulag or similar 3rd world prison (Where every night is sodomy night... and day).

I dont think the attack on Sony's website would postpone PSN going back online. Guys trust me I wish I could play killzone 3 again just as much as the next guy but I think this whole fiasco should teach Sony to upgrade their network security every now and then instead of hiring more lawyers.
