Rage, id Software and Bethesda's next post-apocalyptic first-person shooter has a new gameplay trailer. "Shrouded Bunker" shows us a mission in the game where you need to get into the Shrouded clan's secret base to blow up some bombs. Turns out the clans has a bunch of small remote bomber cars that are causing all kinds of trouble. The whole trailer is in-game footage and since Rage is only a few months away from release you can bet this is how good its going to look. This might sound weird but I'm already in love with the sound of collecting ammo.
Rage will be released for the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 on September 13.

Running around in those environments on foot in a deathmatch would have been cool, (as would using a spider bot in these matches) but it looks like, because of an arbitrary and/or stupid decision by id to exclude these matches from the game, that it is not going to happen. i can get vehicle deathmatch modes from the twisted metal games, so why would i want it here??

I'm a little disappointed that the campaign is only 15 hours. But i have a feeling that it'll be 15 hours of post-apocalyptic bliss. When i was watching this i couldn't help but wonder if we'll ever be able to have companions like in fallout, it would be nice to have some human interaction within missions, but i imagine we wont with those spider bots. I'm not complaining about the spider-bots by the way, those things are bad ass.

"In a recent diplomatic statement John Carmack, the game developing God from Id Software claimed that even though he prefers the 360 it doesn t mean that there is anything wrong with the PS3. He also said that its a great time for developers to develop games, compared to the era of the PS2.
While talking to gamesTM he said:
The PS3 is still far and away better than anything else that s ever been made except maybe the 360."

It s a great time to be a developer. It s not like working with the Sega Saturn or the PS2, where these are really kind of quirky, cranky, architectures that are not, well, architected, I would say.

Even though it looks amazing I dont know if a 15 hour campaign is enough for me to buy it. Might just be a rent unless the multiplayer is surprisingly top notch.
