Battlefield 3 To Be The Biggest Launch In EA's History

EA isn't messing around with Battlefield 3. During today's investor phone call they confirmed Battlefield 3 will be receiving the biggest launch for any franchise in EA history. EA will be dedicating an "enormous commitment of resources" to promote their FPS. BF3 is on track for later this year where its biggest competition will be Acitivsion's next Call of Duty game. A huge launch budget makes sense. Battlefield 3's pre-orders are up more than 700% from Battlefield Bad Company 2's just last year. I think it's safe to say they already have people's attention. I know they have mine.

Reports from earlier in the year said EA planned on spending $100 million on Battlefield's marketing campaign. They clarified that they were "misquoted" and that the statement was referring to the amount on money Activision and EA collectively spend for FPS leadership. EA said they  "aren't announcing the campaign budget," but we can assume it's going to be a lot.

BF3 will be released later this year for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
