The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3DS has a new trailer, just released by Nintendo. The trailer shows some of the updated graphics, although the biggest improvement, 3D, isn't actually visible. One thing they obviously haven't changed is the audio. Those same melodies from the N64 are heard in this trailer and they are sucking me in! I don't want to buy a $250 piece of hardware for a game I already have, three times! How can I possibly resist the sounds of Hyrule though?
NEWS: Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time 3DS Release Date Revealed
Not only will I have to cave to my own zeld-addiction but it looks like I might have to suck it up and pre-order too. According to Shinobi, Nintendo will only be shipping Zelda: OoT 3DS in limited quantities, with less than 150,000 copies in Japan. A similar launch might be planned for the US as well. Of course game stores are taking pre-orders and Nintendo could easily ship more than they are planning if they see a demand for them.
Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3DS will be released exclusively for the 3DS on June 19.

I am gonna be real sad if I can't get Zelda OoT the day it comes out. I am pre-ordering it this coming weekend and I hope I'm not too late. I am gonna be mad if I can't get one because this game is why I went out to pay 250$ on a system I didn't even really want. If I don't get a copy of this game and a guide-book (even though I beat it so many times), I'm gonna be real mad at Nintendo. How dare they Limit the copies of the best game of all-time just so that they can have a full piggy-bank. I hate hearing about the limited copies because every time I do, I just wanna email Nintendo and tell them off. I love Nintendo but this is the stupidest idea I've ever heard of.

I agree on both fronts. Yes, it's kind of ridiculous that Nintendo keeps re-releasing this game for every single console that they create. On the other hand, people who are gonna be buying the console anyway, and who are as die-hard fans of the Zelda series as most of us are, will likely be willing to drop the few bucks to have this awesome game available for on the go. If you don't have a 3DS, obviously you wont buy the 3DS JUST for this game, but if you already have one or will be buying one anyway, all the power to you! I can never say no to enjoying this groundbreaking classic. Unfortunately I have no intention of buying a 3DS, so I guess I'll have to sit this one out.

There a bunch of idiots on these comments that think it is a port. A remake is not the same thing as a port. Have you ever considered the new features? Like the improved master quest over the gamecube version or boss rush or the fact that the item system has been improved so the water temple wont be annoying anymore.

For me this game is all about catching up with an old friend. I haven't played this game in while but it holds some great memories for me. If you haven't played it, play it. Or how could you even consider yourself a gamer?

For someone like me who NEVER played this, I for one will be picking it up. Hopefully this will be the exception to the rule.

The gaming industry isn't about "make all of your products affordable and great for the masses" anymore. It's about tending to each individual audience. No one can afford all the new stuff like back in the good ol' days, you have to pick and choose, and since there are a lot of people who don't have a DS yet, especially in this late part of the current generation of consoles, and especially nintendo fans who are probably ready to throw down for a new system, this release is not a bad idea. Bringing metal gear to the nintendo side is going to be huge. Bringing zelda ocarina to a whole new generation of gamers via 3ds is a great idea. Nintendo is not slacking, theyre obviously working hard. Also, when did become okay to complain to the company who saved video games from potentially failing to make it to homes forever about rereleasing an obvious classic and beyond nostalgic title for a handheld which has been demanded for years, and not complain about conglomerates like EA and activision for milking franchises that are hardly worth the full price they stamp on to the same game year after year when all that changes is the aesthetics and a slight graphics bump? At least nintendo cares about gaming and games, and cares to deliver something new to the player. If you think I'm some nintendo fanboy, yes I am, but I'm also a sony fanboy. It's ten times harder to defend sony right now. Anyway, if you don't like it, fine, but they are not in trouble or slacking. It's just not fiscally worth it for those of us who have experienced nintendo for the last 25 years.

no doubt i will be getting a 3ds eventually, just going to hold off 'till they become a tad cheaper and have a larger library of decent titles.. will most definitely pick up Zelda OoT 3DS when that day comes!
ReaperKirby
well i do only own the game once but if i ever do get a 3DS then i would probably get it but considering that i don't really wanna pay that much on a new system and i still need DSiXL its gonna have to be a sorry wish i could but yeah economy and gas prices are preventing me. Also until then hello my N64 i been playing everyday this year! And hello my walk through book to help with water temple!

So! Where did all the fans that clawed up SC2 people when Zelda and SC2 where in the deathmatch finals? First, people prais on how amazing Zelda is, now, everyone is being lame about the preview! I personally will go out and buy this game for my 3DS. If you don't like the 3DS WHO FREAKING CARES? If you think nintendo failed on offering a 3ds to their consumers, WHO CARES?! If you rather play this on another SYSTEM, DO IT! AND WHO CARES! I have a 3ds, I'm getting this game reguardless of everyone's negative comments! So if you have a negative comment, remember, IT DOESN'T MATTER because Nintendo still makes millions weather or not you don't like ONE of Nintendo's products!
InnerRise
Never played this game.
Not gonna play this one.
Not gonna get it.
Stale Nintendo.

I've never gotten past the part where u haffa kill gannon in that temple in the forest that took me an AGE and HALF to get too. The one where u had to bat at glowing orbs and watch him come through portriats.... I hope I don't break my 3ds the way I felt like breaking my wii controller >_<</safety_wrapper&g t;

*Gasp* Will this foil my plans on getting it at Midnight? I dunno if GameStop is planning a midnight release yet. I'll wait just a bit more... I don't want to drive 20 miles 10 hours later. I want to drive 2 miles and get it right at midnight at my local store... what paranoia are you spreading Nintendo about limited copies?!
xbigxdavex
hmmmm.... emulator? pack around a N64? i think ill just buy this title and be strolling hyrule 3D style on the go. everyone else should just stop hating.
theantigzus
if quantities r limited im pre ordering just so people that want it later can drool over my sealed copy :p
nespherus
I'm hoping the release it on their new machine as well...not in 3D...standard is fine. But I kept my 64 just for Zelda.
permanent_nirvana
I enjoyed this game when it was originally released and still enjoy it to this day. Without 3D.
This game is the only reason I still have a Gamecube.
3D isn't going to change the story. Pass.
Rankshot
I need to go an pre-order this game, because it's going to have master quest, a boss challenge mode, and another dungeon that was supposed to be in the original game.
Symicide
You know what. I'd rather go out and buy a N64 with OoT.
crocodilius
you only have this game 3 times?
does that include the N64 golden cartridge?
if so, such a crime is forgivable.
