The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D May Receive Limited Release In Japan

Posted May 2, 2011 - By Leah Jackson

A trusted Japanese retail blog Sinobi leaked that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D is receiving a very limited initial release in Japan. According to the site, Japanese 3DS owners should pre-order the game if they want to secure a copy, as Nintendo doesn't want Ocarina of Time to end up in a bargain bin like The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks did due to massive overstock and underwhelming sales.

Sinobi only mentions Japanese retailers in the post, saying that regardless of retailer size, Nintendo will only be shipping a set amount of units. There's no word if this is the case for every region, but we're hoping the same won't hold true for the United States once the game lands on June 19.
