Driver: San Francisco has a release date, it will be racing onto store shelves on August 30. This is a pretty good day for Driver fans because Ubisoft released a new trailer for the game too. The "Comeback" story trailer sets up the game as a sequel to Driv3r (or Driver 3). The game takes place a few months after Driver 3 with both Tanner and Jericho surviving the shootout in Istanbul.
Driver: San Francisco is an open-world style action racing game for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.

I'm playing the original Driver on PS1 in preparation for this game; I hope Ubisoft can do the series justice! :-D

OMG!!!!
Did anyone else get chills on how much this felt like Driver: You are the Wheelman? Was the only PC game I played for the longest time, couldn't get enough of it. Plus, that damn "Truck" mission, where you couldn't blow the box in the bed of the truck was annoying as hell :)
I didn't like Driver 2 (getting out of your car seemed too weird and changed the formula), never played Parallel Lines, and Driv3r I just didn't like. But it also makes sense that this would feel like Driver because UbiSoft finally came back to the series, formally known as Reflections. Think Atari did all the ones in between.
Am keeping my mind open mind for this game, but just from the trailer, I have high hopes that this is the Driver that TRUE fans of the original have been waiting for :) Now just can't wait to get my hands on it, even if it's just a rental.
