While the PlayStation Network security breach is sending waves across the video game industry, gamers are inevitably going to worry about other gaming networks. Is your data safe anywhere? While it's probably true that nothing will ever be 100% safe from tampering, other services are undoubtedly going over their security right now in the wake of Sony's incident.
If you're worrying about Xbox Live, Microsoft isn't. They're staying on schedule, in the midst of promotions, with large groups of gamers beta testing some planned system updates. We contacted Microsoft's Xbox Live team and a spokesperson told us:
“It’s business as usual with our previously planned Xbox LIVE promotions and programming. Other than that we have no comment.”
Of course, that "no comment" portion is always the most tantalizing part of the statement. We don't know if Microsoft has come under their own series of attacks, or if they are making behind the scenes changes, but you can be assured that they are paying attention to the situation.

I don't care about multiplayer online ut our cc information is very serious. I hope sony will have a solution to this.... but then again they didn't have a solution for consoles with the yellow light of death other then buy another ps3. I hope they won't tell us to buy another identity or buy anything else. I think this might rumble as far as personal info online. As far as myself.... I'm not giving them anymore of my info, I'll buy a ps money card or just stay offline for good.... because this is a cluster f2ck

i dont know about yall but im enjoying the butload of ps3 exclusives offline anyways. And i can still download music from the browser, watch netflix(cant do that on xbox live without being connected), downloading movies from the browser, watching porn from the browser, read about how xbox live got hacked back in 07 from the browser, still stream movies and music from the browser, still get my game updates, oh and if something happens to my ps3 i have all my game saves saved to the CLOUD.
WOW, what can you do with your xbox if live is offline, change your avatars clothes? PSN is a small part of why i love my ps3, LIVE is the only thing going for the xbox and without it you pretty much have a paperweight. So while I enjoy the 5 or 6 Ps3 exclusives that have already come out this year (with a lot more on the way) ya xbox guys enjoy your exclusive GOW 3 BETA, lol.

This is why Microsoft hasn't been affected. Microsoft pretty much said, here, hack our Kinect, show us it's true power. Sony says, "No no no little boy, hands off."
9 times out of 10, people are going to do something they wouldn't normally do just because you say not to do it.
However, I do miss my PSN, even though I would rather be on XBOX live...it is still missed.

ok on a more serious note as much as this sucks and i can't chat with or do anything online on my ps3, they did kind of ask for it when they declares war on hackers which you NEVER do, and this was the outcome.Plus if they didn't scalp their system and remove soo many features people wouldn't get so upset.
I love my PS3 but sony has done soo many bad decisions it bit them in the ass.
I think they learned their lesson to not poke the hornet's nest anymore. you can do all you can to combat piracy but never publicly call out hackers that is just suicide.
